How about NO

Im tired of all this retcon love for that abortion of a miniseries

it was garbage

I would prefer lesser known or nobody actors for the adults

What the hell are you talking about? We're talking about having Jason Ritter play the role out of respect for his father and as a way to pay tribute to him. It has nothing to do with "retcon love" for the miniseries.

And as it so happens Jason Ritter is a phenomenally talented guy who isn't mainstream, so he actually fits right into the category you presented of being "lesser known."

Next time look before just shooting blindly.

It'd be cool if they could repurpose some of the deaths from the 1950s sequences in the novel and use them in for the modern day stuff in Chapter 2. The sequence of the kid finding that girl's head floating in a storm drain and the fisherman finding an arm in the river was pretty creepy.

Oh yes, definitely. If done right, those could create some spectacular visuals and atmosphere. Fingers crossed we get all of that in Chapter II. It'd only be right.

It is doable but it'll be very tough to pull off that feat. If that 30 million 3rd weekend holds after the actuals come out tomorrow, 'IT' will need a further 68.7 million in the rest of it's theatrical run. That means 'IT' needs a 2.29 multiplier from here on out.

If IT behaves like 'The Conjuring' from this point onward, 'IT' will make [30x2.26]=67.85 million. But so far 'IT' is not behaving like The Conjuring at all.

'IT' is closely mirroring Deadpool's run. Both movies made 2.15 times their OW by their 17th date. Deadpool achieved a 2.5 multiplier from nao to the end of it's run [(Final Total-Total after 3rd Weekend)/(3rd Weekend number)]. But 'IT' most likely won't be in theaters for that long. So considering the Halloween date this year (31st Oct.), I think 60 days is a good time for 'IT' to close shop. During that window Deadpool achieved a 2.35 multiplier so if 'IT' simply follows Deadppol like it has been doing so far, it'll finish with [30x2.35]=70.5 million.

So 'IT' might just about edge SM:H. Pennywise will leapfrog Spidey in the final stretch. But all of this requires SM:H to finish it's own run at 335 million but that can vary either way.

In any case 'IT is easily one of the greatest BO runs I've ever seen. It has been ridiculously awesome so far and I hope the streak continues.

Ah thanks. I won't follow IT's BO much so I thought that it can do like 2.5X of latest weekend more (so it can do 75M more after last weekend). But now when I look at the weekend drops IT doesn't seem to have leg that good even though it isn't summer (understandable as it opened huge). It'll more likely than not pass 325M anyway.

Bev - Chastain or Adams
Mike - Chadwick Boseman or Chiwetel
Richie - Hader, period
Ben - I'm thinking Joel Edgerton
Eddie - in terms of resemblance to the younger actor, I had been thinking Zachary Quinto, but he might be a bit too strapping. In the book, Eddie was kind of on the shrimpy side as an adult too, wasn't he? In that case, I don't know...
Stan - I'm thinking Ben Foster. He's a bit younger than the others, but he could pass for 40, I could buy the younger actor aging into him, and I think he could sell the hell out of a 27-year-old terror pushing him to the point of [blackout]suicide[/blackout].
Bill - This one is weirdly hard to crack for me. I think you'd want to go a little more offbeat than your typical A-lister leading man. Corey Stoll, maybe? Mark Duplass occurred to me out of nowhere too. I don't know...

Yup. The legs on 'IT' aren't quite as spectacular as I was hoping for. It is understandable as 'IT' is running during school session and weekdays contribute much more prominently during the Summer than in September. Plus IT' is also an 'R' rated Horror movie that also happens to be a Stephen King adaptation, two parameters which should result in some notorious front-loading. So it is actually a whole lot of shocking that 'IT' has done so remarkably great in terms of legs so far.

'IT' was actually doing better than Deadpool throughout last week but has fallen off the pace this week (actually starting from the 3rd Saturday). Deadpool's 3rd weekend was more than 'IT's 3rd weekend (even tho 'IT' had a head start of 4.5 million going into the weekend) & the Merc with a mouth is also surging ahead in dailies. At the moment the multipliers for both are same (2.19 x OW) so 'IT' is still trying to keep up and doing it well so far. 4th weekend will make the picture a lot clearer. At the moment it looks like Spidey will win. In my earlier projections, I was basically trying to make a case for 'IT' beating SM:H. That was my optimistic prediction.

To achieve 325 million, 'IT'll need to collect 1.97 times the 3rd weekend, which I think is easily doable.

I'd love to see scenes like that.

Love Chastain as Bev and Chiwetel as Mike. Corey Stoll for Bill is perfect if you want him to be like the book's Bill in demeanor. Although since Bill is such an obvious doopleganger for Stephen King, I wouldn't be opposed to them actually casting along those lines (as long as it doesn't fall as flat on its face as the miniseries of 1990 did).

Not crazy though with Joel Edgerton as Ben.He is probably too big a name for this ensemble, but someone like Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings. A really likable actor who can sell a kind of loneliness that is still not just a sad sack would be really useful.

They need to do whatever they can to get Amy Adams. Sophia Lillis was nearly her spitting image.

Definitely Corey Stoll for Bill and Bill Hader for Richie. David Dastmalchian seems to be pushing for the role of Richie and he could be great for the part but Bill Hader seems like such a natural choice for the character. Seeing that Jessica Chastain has worked with the Muschietti siblings in the past and she seems to be good friends with them, I expect her to be cast as Bev… unless there are scheduling conflicts or she becomes pregnant. As cool as it would be to see Chastain as Bev, I wouldn’t mind seeing another actress snag the role. My alternate choice for Bev is Kelly Reilly.

This is my full fan cast for IT: Chapter Two:

Bill – Corey Stoll
Ben – Scott Speedman or Josh Hartnett
Bev – Jessica Chastain or Kelly Reilly
Richie – Bill Hader
Mike – Andre Holland
Eddie – Colin Hanks
Stan – Johnny Galecki

Why are so many people dead set on Hader as Richie? I don't think we need a comedian in the role just because Richie is funny. I'd much rather they go with someone with dramatic chops. Or, at least someone who looks like Finn Wolfhard, which Hader does not.

Seriously, don't tell me resemblance doesn't matter. It matters. It's not impossible to cast actors who look like the kids, and are right for the role.

Here's Collin Hanks

Do they look anything alike?

I think getting A list actors is a mistake both budget wise and also the fact that a lot of these names I see on this page are good actors but they're not good character actors. I'd personally rather see the character than the actor for horror movies and a lot of A listers stand out too much.

Close enough for me. :)

I dig these choices. I've said a whole lot that Stoll is my go-to for Bill. Ben Foster is interesting as Stan. I can definitely see that.

Yup. Agreed.

So, is Collin Hanks going to wear brown contact lenses, or are we just going to ignore that little detail altogether? Never mind that, personality wise, he's wrong for the part.

They could get both Chastain and Adams since Audra bears a resemblance to Beverly in the novel.

While Stoll is my top choice, I think Tobey Magurie would also be an interesting pick for Bill.

It will be fun to see who ends up as the adult Losers. I expect we will hear casting around March or April.

I doubt Adams or Chastain would take the role of Audra as that part will most likely be small but it would be a great role for a less known actress.

Lol.

You win, dude. It seems I have no idea what I'm saying even though I'm just tossing out my ideas. My bad.

Go be a casting director because it seems you know how to cast movies.

Ooooh, good call on Foster for Stanley. I could totally see that.

I could see Edgerton as Ben too.
