Steven Spielberg's Falling Skies

They really should've given the youngest son a haircut that didn't make him look like a preteen lesbian.

Agreed. I know it's the apocalypse and all but there's really no excuse.

LOL, I thought the same thing. It was a bad flashback to 80s hair.

The freaking baby creeped me out!

That was a WTF moment for me. So I guess the aliens put something in Tom (when he joined them at the end of season 1)or Dr. Glass somehow. I wonder where they're going to take this. It felt kind of silly and out of nowhere, imo. It almost had me thinking it was in her head.

I really love the look of the new alien allies (Noom or Voom?). They kind of remind me of Abe from Hellboy. I'm not with Tom on this one, I don't trust the aliens building a big arse weapon under Charlston and not know what it actually does or have any control over it.

Volm. It's funny b/c the actor playing Cochise is Doug Jones, the actor who played Abe in HB1 and 2. As well as the Silver Surfer in the otherwise forgettable F4 sequel. Would like to see more of his character, but I guess they gotta save money. Would've been nice to see how Cochise explained himself to them and how he earned their trust instead of skipping 7 months later.

I agree something's fishy about that weapon and their plan. Tom and Weaver think it's a large gun, but Cochise doesn't even tell 'em what it is exactly. It could be for there own protection who knows.

I also find it funny that the Volm's name is Cochise. If anybody remember's the Lethal Weapon films Riggs called Murtaugh that a few times in the movies. I always figured that it was a nickname Weaver gave it, but it seems like that's it's real name.

It is interesting to see the development with Cara, the blonde ex-girlfriend. Is she the new human overlord or is she a red herring. She is a great villain to the survivors.

Karen. And yeah I think she's supposedly taking over for the "fish head" overlord Tom killed. Especially now with the harness merged inside her back. Unless Cochise is the real overlord and using Karen as a red herring like you said. We'll see.

I don't think the son is the mole. I know he has something in his brain but I don't think he is the guy.

Me either. At first I believed he was.
Until Manchester was murdered b/c Hal was playing monopoly with his family while and when that happened. So it couldn't be him. It would've been too obvious anyway.
The mole looks sort of feminine from what little I've seen of him/her, but who knows.

This show is really a top notch show. It has all the elements of being a great scifi alien invasion drama. I look forward to seeing this season unfold.

It's been good so far. I like the addition of Robert Sean Leonard's eccentric Dr. Kadar ( funny name) character. But they need to figure out how to split the season in half instead of having to wait every summer. It's been on hiatus too long and I haven't been refreshing my memory on last season.

All points to Hal as far as I can see.

By the way, his showing up at the intro with the wheel chair shocked the heck out of me. I have an uncle who was paralyzed and my best friend from highschool on was also. So seeing that kinda hit me hard in the moment.

Which is odd that Hal is paralyzed b/c towards the end of the season 2 finale he was walking to the mirror and he saw the probe moving out and back into his eye. I guess it paralyzed him after that moment b/c he was fighting the probe like Karen explained to Hal. Eventhough as we later find out it looks like it's all psychological somehow for Hal that he can't walk, when he actually can. That's just a weird plot device, imo. I guess to give Hal conflict, b/c assuming he's not the mole what's the point of the probe inside his brain. So Karen can have one night stands with Hal. Come on. I was expecting more to come from that after the season 2 finale.

Watch the spy be... the baby! :hehe:

What's the deal with the baby anyway? Why would it end up being like that? Maybe the aliens did something with Tom back then?

With a show dealing with aliens and having Tom's one week old daughter doing some of the things a normal one week old baby would be unable to do. I wouldn't find it hard to believe that Alexis was the spy. I'm not kidding. I was hoping that was all in Anne's head but from the looks from last night's season 3 preview it isn't.

I don't know, I trust Voom, so far. How the captain (i forget his name -_-) is suspicious, I find it irritating and I hope they are good. If they are, it would make an interesting story.

Well I can't see it being the son, cause Locke would have been a little surprised to see him walking, no one knew he could walk at that time. I'm thinking it's the woman the Tom's/President's aid.

My question is why only the same 10-15 people aside from a few redshirts, are the only the ones doing the actual fighting, I mean Hals out there with no working legs day in and day out. Aren't there at least a few hundred people in the group, I see a lot of people renovating, how about we rotate, you go fight on this one, I'll put up the dry wall today. Isn't this the type of situation where if you can shoot, you help fight?

lol @ Matt's haircut. That's got to go.

I recognised the voice right away. But it took awhile to make out that was Wilson as the nuclear engineer.

I like the Volms but a lot of what Pope said did make sense. They need to take part in more on screen battles. A lot of them do. We only saw Chocise ride out. The rebel skitters put in more of an effort.

This.

Manchester wasn't shocked til the gun was pulled on him. Besides, Hal's got two solid alibis. 1- Playing Monopoly w/ fam while Manchester was killed. 2- In the 2nd episode there he is w/ his father's team executing the real plan.

It's one of the two new female characters w/ the older one being the most likely suspect.

Then the baby's got ninja skills. Sneaking out the womb to off Manchester then sneaking back in without alerting Ann. Skills... ninja skills. lol

Damn that baby had some spooky moments.

I feel like the Volm arent as interested in freeing humans from Espheni control as they are in getting the Espheni out of the picture so the Volm can rule.

That probably has a lot to do with the budget, but I agree with you. Also kind of wish they had showed how Cochise earned their trust for those past seven months. Last season ended with it landing at Charleston having Tom and his group not knowing whether he's an enemy or ally. But then season 3 opens with them as allies destroying Mechs and skitters without showing how it lead to that. I think it would've been interesting to see Tom and Weaver interrogating it and such. As well as Cochise earning at least Tom's trust. The Cochise character was the reason I was hyped for this season. And casting Doug Jones was icing on the cake. Oh well. Hopefully we'll see more of him/it this season.

I agree I think it might be Gloria Reuben's character or Weaver's daughter , b/c from what ittle we've seen of the spy. The spy sort of looked and moved feminine like.

I liked the first two episodes I also liked the new additions to the cast. I just wish they cut down on the sappy family moments. That baby reminded me of the e-trade baby when it just stood up and said mama. I wonder how Tom will react his advanced baby starts solving physic equations by 8mos.

I had a new thought on the baby issue. What if that machine that removes the harness is doing something to Dr. Glass. She looks drained or something happened to her when we saw her remove that harness. The tendrils special effects were amazing.

The other thought I had about Karen was, what if the aliens are trying to breed with the humans to create a hybrid to take over the world?

Now that I think back, I don't like the 7 month gap. Especially since they aren't doing flashbacks. I can understand that it creates a mystery in the narrative but it also leaves things unfinished because of the gaps. I think they will fill in the gaps as the story moves along.

Good start, it went right into action.
I had forgotten how much this show was cheesy and stereotyped ( even compared to Revolution and Defiance ).
The baby stuff is creepy.

Very nice start for the show, way better than crappy Revolution. If they can add more suspense to what they already have, it could also be better than TWD. And Alexis, the creepiest baby on tv!! :woot:

I liked the premier. Nice progression of all the characters.

Cool to see that chick as the new overlord too.

Oh, btw is/was Moon Bloodgood pregnant in real life? Her face looked convincingly chubby.

Can we as a society cut the **** with the mentality that in order to celebrate one thing, we have to completely **** on something else as a selling point? It's getting old.

Agreed

It took me forever to finally place where I knew Dr Kragar? from. It's WILSON from HOUSE!

I've been saying that these past 7 months.

Yeah she was pregnant in real life around the airing of the S2 Finale.

I know, I was just ****ing with you.
