Lol, no. Thors mother isnt Earth, she may have been an old goddess from Earth but she herself wasnt earth. Storm can breath both underwater, and Channel winds to create HER own atmosphere, the only time that breathing in air didnt happen when she was exhausted from channeling the cosmic energy to destroy the evil brood inside her in outerspace. And so what if Thor can create his own weather, his weather would have to have the same merit as storms, since creating your own weather, well really wouldnt be weather as we know it now would it? When storm was battling Dr. Doom he encased her in a field of his energy without knowing she was claustrophobic, She broke free and had force levels like that of the phoenix hence in fear of a repeat of the Jean Grey/Phoenix the Xmen dubbed her Stormphoenix, even if the name is dumb and shortlived and she possesses OMEGA power which nonetheless is that of a God power duh. One such occasion is a version of the future revealed to the X-Men by Apocalypse in X-Men #98 (released in January 2000) in which Storm has ascended to become an elemental being, no longer bound by corporeal restraints, and her powers are so great that she is an Omega Mutant. She is a member of the universal peace-keeping organization called the X-Alliance whose base of operations is a planet called X-World.
Technically marvel has not announced that, but Iron Man as well as loads of other mentionable heroes have already attested to her powers. Marvel itself states, "the limits of her powers are only by the limitations of her will power" If like when her self control was taken away she became a Primal force of nature. She didnt tire, she didnt care about what happened, her energy statiated itself. She was unaffected when Scarlet Witch whiped away practically every mutants power. And what about this weather stuff...hello what makes weather? Weather is a combination of singular acts creating a bigger more commonly visable phenomena. If storm was a lighning bolt she doesnt have to create a thunderstorm, or a hurricane, dont be dumb. This thousand of year experience? Well Storms entire back history is nothing but of supremely gifted priestesses and sorcerers, She was a sorceress of magic in the astral plane. She has the history and the well being to completely be next to Thor even in a timeline was his wife and weilded the hammer of Tarene. Storm is not limited to Earth weather or phenominal manipulation, she has on so so many occasions used Forces from outer space to her advantage. She use cosmic core to purge the brood egg, she used Cosmic Flares to destroy sentinels, she use plain forces of nature to destroy nimrod (for at time). Comparing one attact to another is no way to determine a winner. A child could pull a gun on a sniper and kill him, eventhough the sniper has way more experience and the child should have none. I do believe that blast for blast Thor would win, but when it comes to an entire battle, he wouldnt win. Even if his lightning was 50xs stronger, and his winds were stronger, she can avoid them, encasing herself away from his threats and attack when the moment is right, its not light they would stand there head on and just bombard with lightning or whatever. Storm is not only an astonishing melee fighter, she is trained in every aspect of fighting and according to Xavier, wolverine and everyone she is a definate leader with definate potential and definate skill.

Storm really isn't all that strong, and since the weather doesn't literally obey her like it does Thor or other gods with that ability, she's at a disadvantage, nor is she really all that durable.

Hey thats not fair, Im not saying she IS the ULTIMATE im saying she is ULTIMATE. And stated numerously that I do believe that pound for pound Thor would have the advantage. Im definately not being biased, Thor is a fav of mine because of his abilities. So "fune" your words are boosting urself. I just think its odd, how everyone in the Marvel world seems to hold her to a supreme high esteem, yet somehow anti-storm"ers" think she is weak, doesnt really have control over the weather (sucks for when she Made Mars, Venus, and the Moon inhabitable all while making sure earth was safe) and besides the fact that she once encased an entire city in a biodome to prevent surving mutants destruction. She doesnt have control over the weather??? Why when she is angry do thunderclouds form? How does she fly if she cant command winds to know exactly where she is to lift her up? How is it she doesnt get hit by her own powers? It obviously obeys her emotions duh. Channel weather?? Channel it from where its everywhere! So boo hoo to those who dont care/ choose to make storm weak lol, cause you, me, every single one of her writers, all her stories for some reason have the opposite opinion as these nay sayers.

Storm can be powerful but to compare her power levels to that of Thor is naive. She can manipulate ambient weather to the limits that her willpower and body will allow...he can create weather patterns and has no discernable limitations on that ability. There is NO comparison between the two.

However storm has proven to do more, she creates acid rain, poisoned fog! Is this not creating? That wasn't very mean. Storm beating a god? Even if we say the weather powers wouldn't effect each other, thor has more battle experience than anyone in the MU, has the powers of a god and magic. Storm like all other mutants are limited by their human bodies. (see Magneto vs. Joesph for example)

But I agree with the super powered characters over a good story. God onslaught still bothers the piss out of me.

Honestly, I wonder what storm would be like as like an essence of weather, I actually think that perhaps as it she would be weakened. If she did turn herself into like wind or something, and someone was able to also control weather, I would imagine they would be able to control her. So I dont think she doesnt have limits.

It's very clearly stated by MARVEL that Storm is limited to controlling/manipulating existing weather patterns and only in a limited area. For instance, she can cause a torrential downpour in a drought area only by taking the precipitation from other areas. Thor on the other hand CREATES weather patterns, he doesn't manipulate them. He could cause a torrential downpour on that same area without affecting outside sources.
There is only so much a human body can take so her physical conditioning will only go so far. Again, no comparison.
