Sci-Fi Stranger Things (Netflix) - Part 1

Couldnt get through the first episode, dont know why but this feels like a serie from decades ago, it feels dated already because of the whole 80s vibe.

TBF, i think it depends how old 'one' is, I'm absolutely age-appropriate to the get the 'most' from the series, younger poster's / viewers may not get the same feel and experience, from the series. Holding out an olive branch of thought on this one.

Can understand why young people like this.

I'm 35 and I love this show and my little cousin has been watching the show since she was 13 and loves it too ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I mean... the 80's atmosphere is kind of the whole point since it's supposed to take place in the 80's.

Lol, seriously

If they do a season 5 they better do a time jump to either 1989 or 1990
I have a feeling the final season will end in either 1988 or 1989. I doubt it makes it to the ‘90s. Although interestingly enough, I just realized that each season has taken place in consecutive years.

Season 1 - 1983
Season 2 - 1984
Season 3 - 1985
Season 4 - 1986

So I guess season 5 might take place in 1987 and there’s a chance it could be the last one.

Yeah, there’s a higher probability that it will take place in 1987

But 1989 would be a good year as it closes out the decade, explains why the kids aged, and also for some Batman ‘89 references :D

I liked it the first 2 seasons S3 was a chore to get through S4 has come to late ive lost interest and watchex it with nueces and nephews they all have moved on also I don't think this gets a s5

I am *definitely* out of the "young people" demographic at 47, and my wife and I are huge fans of the 80's since our formative years were during that era, and that doesn't hurt our appreciation for this show. At. All.

seeing 80s stuff used for new content looks like a cheap trick to get people nostalgic and like it.

Some stories just don't work in modern times, with internet and iphones and all that. Some stories just need to be told in a certain time period.

All I remember about the 80s is scoffing down one too many Burger Kings in uptown Manhattan, Queens the home of Trump and the rundown area of Brooklyn, admiring the creative NYC subway, building graffiti. I probably saw the late Jean-Michel Basquiat's graffiti as I was all around NYC, Queens, Brooklyn, Bronx and Manhattan. Thankfully nothing happened to me then - the 80s was supposed to be epidemic in crime wave. lol

Isn‘t the setting during springbreak? I expect it to be released on that „holiday“

It was confirmed a while ago that it would still be released in the summer, just not specifically when.

Find it stupid since yeah, a Spring Break release would be much more fitting given the setting but whatever.

Anyone else thinking that tagline means Season 5 will be the last one? There's been speculation in the past but "Every ending has a beginning" kind of fuels that fire.

I think the Duffer Bros straight up said they were planning 4-5 seasons so yeah I think the tagline lends to what they said before
