Why did they pick Rick Flagg and Captain Boomerang,Boomerang seems like a Hawkeyes ripoff,and Rick Flagg is just a tough guy (he seems like a wasted character).

Boomerang isn't anymore a Hawkeye ripoff than Hawkeye is a Green Arrow ripoff.


Especially considering Boomerang made his first appearance four years before Hawkeye.

Flagg's the non-villain field leader. Basically someone to keep the loose cannons in line.

What are the chances this will feature Harley's origin? Maybe she's just a shrink at the start, brought in by Waller to psychoanalyze the team and the events of the film lead to her obsession with Joker?

Maybe not. Gerard Butler's gonna crush it though.

Joker: Highly dangerous and unpredictable psychopath who has evaded death on multiple occasions, formidable combatant, chemical expert.

Harley Quinn: Highly dangerous and unpredictable psychopath, skilled combatant.

Rick Flag: Super soldier, skilled in multiple forms of combat, born leader.

Enchantress: Highly skilled sorceress, can heal herself, teleport and walk through walls.

Boomerang: Throws boomerangs.


Yeah, I'd say there's a pretty good shot he bites it.

Digger manages to make it out always, despite not being a badass. It's almost a running joke of the Squad. Plus, they probably will have a few more members that will have to job it as Redshirts.

Yeah, I think he'll survive. But if there is one core member of the team who doesn't make it, I'd bet on him.

Read Ostrander's run from the late 80s, then you'd see why they selected Flagg and Boomerang.

Rick Flagg is a great character, complex and nuanced in his ethos. He believes in the cause to exploit bad guys for the greater good, and he's not opposed to dying as a martyr to escape his own inner demons (one of the suicidal characters in a group called Suicide Squad). Boomerang is comedic relief, for the most part, but not one without his moments of insight in the superhero vs. supervillain dynamic.

Of all the Warner Brothers films, this is easily my favorite.

Seriously, if an actor has appeared in a SUPER small role in a CBM or were virtually un recognizable they shouldn't be disqualified to be cast in another CBM. Evans and Hardy are proof of how shortsighted that view can be.

And Ryan Reynolds has done it thrice! (Though many would argue that this is a notch for the Pro column.)

Umm... Traditionally Lawton doesn't wear an eye patch. The mask has a built in sight, but he has both eyes.
