Floyd Lawton....is it a coincidence, or is he named somewhat after the barber on the Andy Griffith Show?

For me, the Joker/Harley combination is going to propel this film into the stratosphere. Mister J creates a buzz wherever he goes, particularly when he shakes hands.

If this film takes any inspiration from Ostrander's run.....It's going to be something very special. :D

:shr: I see what you did there.

Indeed. Hopefully the comic shops get a butt load of TPBs of the old Squad comics to show people how awesome that book was.

Hmm? Nothing to see here...

If they give Will Smith's character a eyepatch,he's gonna look like Nick Fury.It would of been so much better if they made Will Smith Black Manta.

He just needs his outfit from I robot and he's all set. :oldrazz:

I hope we start the film with a Squad mission that's already gone pear shaped. Flagg, Lawton and Digger make it out but the rest of that team doesn't (this lets you do some crazy cameos, all of whom get killed) and then Waller sends Flagg and Co. right back out there to collect a new team for the film's main plot.

Indeed. I really hope they take plenty of inspiration because there's plenty of political and thematic material that's pretty relevant today as it was in the late 80s. After the announcement was made today, Geoff Johns said this on Twitter:
Could not be more excited for the cast of Squad! @jfostrander 's run is one of the best and underrated in comics history IMO. Start reading.

The fact that this universe has no connection to the Nolan films is explanation enough, IMO.

Commonsense and the internet rarely go hand and hand.

See that's why I would love to see Kobra play a part in this. You could really explore things like extremists and their world view and how they attract people to their cause.

Yeah, there needs to be a moment like this in the film.

...and then there's that too, lol. I must've been picturing Slade Wilson or something.

Deadshot does have an eye patch on Arrow though. I honestly forgot that most versions don't have an eye patch too.

This is true. As a kid, I saw a lot of Gary Oldman, but didn't realize it was him until years later. It blew my mind when I found out he was the villain in "The Fifth Element".

I was the same way, I watched alot of Fifth Element and Lost in Space back in the day. Then I was big into Harry Potter, then I decided to watch The Professional once and really noticed his character in that film. The dominoes slowly began to fall and I was all at once hit with the brilliance of Mr. Oldman. Definitely one of my favorite actors.

I saw this episode the other day, TBS has made me like Seinfeld.

Yeah, wut?

I wonder if this film will get us a insight on how the world must feel now about the presence of all of the costumed heroes that are now beginning to slowly pop up onto the public spotlight.

It will have been two years in story since Zod's broadcast and attack. Plenty of time to have the Golden Age of Heroes vs. Villains starting up. If anything, the formation of the Squad lines up nicely with the idea that people ARE looking for some modicum of control over these super humans running around now.
