I’ve heard for weeks that Batman will appear in Suicide Squad, supposedly in an in-story scene, likely at the end of the film and focused on certain circumstances involving the Joker (which I won’t spoil here).

.....
.....

I’ve indeed heard that yes, Batman is in Suicide Squad. What I’ve heard is that he figures into a particular scene regarding the Joker, and from the sounds of it the scene would likely be near the end of the movie and might give us hints about a future solo Batman film. Some other things I heard are vague but similar to a couple of elements mentioned in the Latino Review report, but I won’t talk about specific plot points here. And for those of you who listen to my appearances on podcasts at Batman on Film, Modern Myth Media, and recently Shanlian On Batman, yes this is the mysterious “other” upcoming film appearance by Affleck’s Batman that I’ve hinted about for a few weeks.

I can get with this but I hope it isn't a large role. Lex and Batman both in Suicide Squad. Good stuff.

I would love this. Honestly, as long as he's the only hero who makes an appearance and it isn't too big a role, this could totally work.

That all sounds good to me. One quick cameo at the end would be a perfect way of leading into a new solo Batman film.

My only problem is Ellen Yindel being the Police Commissioner instead of Gordon.

btw you posted the wrong link. It's supposed to be...

I love how this BvS and SS really sets up this new DC world of synergy!

this is definitely something that would add some hype to SS. And the hype is already incredible.

He isn't, but with the theme of showing how bad guys can do good things, showing the reverse with a good guy revealed as evil works along with it.

Or maybe there's a bigger reason Flagg does what he does, and he could end up still being a good guy.

That could work, sure. But I'd prefer that there be that one person on the team who's just a "good guy." The entire rest of the team is made up of villains, psycho's, scumbags, etc. So having the ONE fundamentally decent guy ALSO turn out to be bad, or have a hidden agenda, just doesn't sound all that appealing to me.

Even with Latino Review reporting this, I have no problem with any of it.

Flagg as the villain is fine and I imagine he wouldn't be seen again after this movie. And I don't buy the twist as the reason Hardy left. That's weird.

Still sounds like Flagg shines throughout. He would have a problem with this twist but have no issue with Bane getting owned by Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises? Come on man.

Saying that he got "owned" is a stretch. Yes Catwoman killed him, and in order to do so she had to blast him with two rockets at point blank range. So it's not like she kicked his ass or anything. She basically ambushed him with freaking rocket launchers.

I just realized how much Bane sounded like Christopher Walken.

Warner Bros.’ “Suicide Squad” looks to still be one member short.
Following Tom Hardy’s departure from the role of Rick Flag, sources now tell Variety that Jake Gyllenhaal has passed on an offer to play the leader of the superhero team.
WB had no comment.
The film currently stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne with David Ayer directing. The pic doesn’t go into production until April, so there is still plenty of time to find another person to fill the role.
The film is set to bow Aug. 5, 2016.
Gyllenhaal has a handful of films debuting in 2015, including “Southpaw,” “Everest” and “Demolition.” He is repped by WME.
:(

Since when the Suicide Squad is a superhero team? :funny:

Waits for haters and marvelites and ELMaybe that it was because of the script and WB has no plan and blah blah blah.

How long till WB don't know what they're doing and Suicide Squad movie is already in trouble post's?

FACT: Tom Hardy and Jake Gyllenhaal both watched Man of Steel after getting the role and realized that they didn't want to be associated with the same universe where Superman slaughters millions of innocent women and children with his bare hands and then does push-ups on top of their ashy graves.

Maybe they'll go back and expand his role a little bit, if the problem is actually the script. Or settle for a lesser star.

Jake and Hardy's reasoning for passing on SS are boilerplate reasons that often come up for why actors have to preclude their involvement in various projects...

But no... Let's assume it's because the writer for TRAINING DAY, FURY and END OF WATCH screwed the pooch on the script.

Oh fanboys...

That wasn't meant as a dig at you Nemeres. Just some have been going over board with the speculation on that today.

I want Slade in this movie and in the DCCU so bad!!

I won't get my hopes up that it's true, but playing along for now the Oscar nominees who come to mind are:

Brad Pitt, Denzel Washington, and Viggo Mortensen.

I'd love to see Pitt or Mortensen as Wilson.

As I said in the BVS thread, if it ain't Brad Pitt, **** off. :o
