They'd have enough for a teaser by August, even if they were still shooting. I don't think they'll necessarily have a teaser a year in advance, just that it'll be attached to The Man from U.N.C.L.E. if they do.
I'm hoping that there's something in this movie that really connects it to the DCCU
Reference to specific things that happened in either MOS or BvS rather than simply mentioning batman or something.
There's no time to be subtle.![]()
There have been teaser trailers released to the public while films were still in principal photography before. Suicide Squad may or may not end up being one of them, but there is precedent. They aren't going to release a public trailer while still filming. There could be something at comic con but there isn't going to be anything public.

well some movies have trailers like 2 years before the movie comes out, it doesn't mean we could get a suicide squad trailer tomorrow. Youre talking about the exception here not the norm. IMO there is basically 0% chance we get a trailer a year out for Suicide Squad. November/December looks a lot more likely
Yes, it's the exception. A handful of movies per year get a teaser a year in advance. Has there ever been a movie with a trailer two years in advance? Not that I'm aware of.
So a few movies per year, the very biggest tentpole releases, get teasers a year in advance. Those teasers are sometimes released while the film is still in principal photography. WB is going large with Suicide Squad. It may or may not get a teaser a year in advance. It wouldn't surprise me if it did. It wouldn't surprise me if it didn't.
That's part of a special breed of teaser for versions of movies that weren't actually made. There was a teaser for a Spider-Man movie in the 1980s that didn't get made, too, although I'm not sure if it actually played in theaters or was just a promotional tool for investors at the time. Has there ever been a teaser featuring footage from an actual production that went on to be released that has come out as much as two years in advance?Where the Wild Things Are's first teaser came out 9 years before the movie was released

It looks like Ayer is going to steadily share pics throughout the process. Very cool.![]()
