Suicide Squad: General Discussion and Speculation - - - Part 20

Looks like going forward Geoff Johns is the only member of the DCEU brain trust that will still wield power in DC Films. Roven is moving towards a more EP type role, and im guessing Both the Snyder's are exiting post JL part one.

Snyder will most likely take a break like Whedon and film some other WB movies later like the Fountainhead movie he says he's been working on.

i can't think of a movie i'd want to see less than zack snyder's the fountainhead. i actually wonder if he'll even get to make that movie. or maybe he'll go meta with its production.

but that thr article makes it sound like berg has as much power as johns. in fact, if berg is the one on set, and is a liason to affleck, i'm guessing he's tone-policing jl more than johns. wait, what sub-board am i on?

This is the Suicide Squad board, lad.

A Joker movie!?!?!?!??!

http://****************.com/movies/warner-bros-dc-multiple-suicide-squad-spinoffs/

A Boomerang spinoff would be interesting as well...but not sure it would get the audience. Unless a bunch of other Flash villains are in it like Captain Cold, Trickster, etc.

But anyway...

A JOKER MOVIE!!?!??!?

I dunno. Believe me, Joker is the only reason why Batman is my favorite super hero, but I think part of why Joker is such a great character is his mystery... I don't want a whole movie about him... I want him to cut in and out of scenes and be a present threat, but not a movie revolved around just his character.
I don't know how much Joker we are getting in SS, I'm sure its going to be around the same amount as we got in TDK, maybe more.

I would def like to see a SS sequel and have the Joker still in it.....

I believe we are about to get something really special with Leto as the Joker and I don't WB's greed to over saturate the audience with too much of a good thing...

Both Joker and Boomerang are characters that work best in short bursts.

A Joker/Harley movie would be awesome. Don't see the need for a seperate solo film for both of them, that seems a bit much.

as a big fan of david ayer, i certainly hope this film is gangbusters and that people love captain boomerang, but yeah, having a hard time imagining him in a solo. then again, coupled with some other scumbag for a buddy pic of sorts, attach a good writer and director, and anything is possible, i suppose.

is wegothiscovered pretty reputable? can't say i've heard of the site before.

I'm not even sure about a straight Harley movie... I think she is a great character but she is going to need some people to help her in a solo-ish movie. possibly the Gotham City Sirens?

I don't think there is any way a Captain Boomerang solo movie would work... but I think he is going to be a great character in SS.

To the general audience, no one knows about SS, let alone who the members include.

I was just reading some stuff and how awesome would this be to see on film?...minus the Joker being dead and all

"After a falling out with the Joker, she goes into a murderous frenzy, directed towards people responsible for the Joker's imprisonment. Captured by Black Canary, she is forcibly inducted into the Suicide Squad by Amanda Waller.[14] However, when she discovers that the Joker is rumored to be dead, it takes a further toll in her already addled mind, and betraying the Suicide Squad, she puts their safety and secrecy at risk by turning herself into the Gotham Police Department in a plot to gain access to the skinned face of the Joker.[15] Her plan apparently pays off, and she manages to recover the face, though in a further psychotic episode, Harley captures and ties up Deadshot and places the skinned face of the Joker over Deadshot's face, so that she can carry on a "conversation" with her dead lover.

I came here to laugh at the idea of a Joker movie, but then I remembered Azzarello's Joker and... yeah, it could work, I guess. It'd still have to feature Batman though, even if his role were minor.

But honestly, I'd rather see an outright Batman (as the protagonist) vs. Joker & Harley movie, as I've been waiting for one for so long.

I think this is Dc's and WB's best bet. You gotta have the Bats!

i dont see how a joker movie or a cap boomerrang movie would work. Does Joker even have a comic from his perspective? Why not just have boomerrang show up in flash's movie?

Which is why I find this to be a terrible idea. Joker has always worked as an unfathomable, unpredictable character, somewhere between the force of nature and an actual character with method to his madness. These traits are what made him become one of the most revered villains. Making a film from Joker's POV or one that follows the Joker for the majority of time would completely trivialize the character.

If all those SS spinoffs happen how many times are we going to see Batman on screen? BMCE *Batman Cinematic Universe*

The only character I can actually imagine getting a spin-off is Harley, and even that only as a "Gotham Sirens" or "Birds of Prey" team-up and not really a solo. Members of the Suicide Squad are simply not solo comic nor film material.

Hey, I can go for a Suicide Squad Cinematic Universe. Screw the JL!

make that two for the bmce. so long as it's affleck controlled and exists within the fantastic world of the dc universe and not nolan's strict realism.

why do I keep doing this to myself..

Was at a test screening of #SuicideSquad earlier and needed a few mins to process. Awesome movie! Very immersive and I want more!

My buddy saw "Suicide Squad" and said its the greatest movie he's seen in years AND Margot R. is a queen.

Duh, to me it's pretty obvious SS is the greatest movie ever made.

He had once, it was short lived. Probably for the same reasons that a Joker solo film doesn't sound like a good idea.

I still think a Steve Jobs like movie structure would be great for a Joker movie. Probably couldn't make multiple movies about the Joker. However, just have 3 acts about different periods in his life would be excellent.

I would do Boomerang as kind of a comedy.

Harkness tries to make a name for himself as a criminal. The bosses have a good laugh at his gimmick. Captain Boomerang decides to carve out a place for himself in the underworld with his trusty boomerangs.

I don't know of any comics that tie into this idea, but it is upfront with the silliness of his gimmick.

The Joker film - I'd want Monster T to be our audience surrogate, the same way Johnny Frost was in that Joker graphic novel by Brian Azarello. I picked Monster T because a weapons dealer with potentially magic tattoos sounds cool.

Joker by brian azzarello

Its all about how Johnny Frost(also in Suicide Squad) gets a front row seat to the spectacle that is the Joker

Captain Boomerang is a hard sell but yeah they could easily turn that into a Flash Rogues movie and you are gold.
