I never expected The Joker to have a huge role but that's just me. Maybe I just didn't fall for the marketing. Although 10 minutes of screen time seems like an even smaller role than I figured.

Jeremy Jahns is one of my favourite critics and loved Suicide Squad. So I really don't care about the salty RT critics with hidden agendas...

When are you seeing the film?

Not really sure. Busy this week with work. If I can over the weekend I will. But not positive that I can even get to it this weekend. Waiting to see how my plans unfold. You?

One common complaint I'm hearing about the movie is that the first 2 acts are great and it falls apart at the end.

Well, it is the best comic book movie ever made, so you probably should, yeah...

Makes you wonder where DC films would be without the TDK trilogy, huh?

I never expected him to be in the bulk of the film, but considering how many different scenes they showed him in, I expected him to have more then 10 mins. He looked like he had his own subplot.

I'm going to try to see it at 6pm Thursday.

Neither did I thought the Joker would have a big role.

In fact...I think the Joker has had enough exposure in film that other villains could be explored...I am not sure.

We've seen the Joker and the penguin in Burtons batman 1 and 2
The riddler and ... two face, Mr freeze and poison ivy

Scarecrow...Ra Ghul, joker and two face ... Bane...

Then there's superman's films ...lex Luther. ..and superman's nemesis from his former home world...

If I missed anyone...sorry.

With this film I just wanted a little taste of this new Joker. I really wanna see him full blown in a Batman film. Seeing Leto and Batfleck working off of one another.

Thought he would at least get 15 minutes of screen time :csad:

I think a month ago there was a tweet that said WB might do a extended cut of the movie. I forgot what his name is but I think he also said that the movie is more in line with the new 52 version of the Squad while the characterizations of some characters like Amanda Waller and Captain Boomerang are lifted from the Ostrander series, which seems to be true based on the trailers and clips.

Soooooo, have I missed anything?

Hell, at the rate the reviews pumped out this time, people may forget them by Friday.

I feel like after I support Wonder Woman I am done with DC films.

I feel you are letting the meta environs get to you. These are just stories told to entertain or stimulate. If they do that they work. If you were interested in any movie for whatever reason: good trailer, beloved character, respected creators, etc., I think you owe it to yourself to have a chance to enjoy it, and not suddenly feel disenchanted and walk away because other people did not like it.

You disliked BvS so I can understand if you may not feel like watching JL,
because that can be seen as a direct continuation of the work you did not enjoy, but this is a different director, cast, story, etc. So it can certainly be judged it by its own merits.

It may suck, it may rock, I will decide after watching. I may get entertained by later analysis what parts worked and which did not.
The larger external reaction will be an ADJUNT to that, to complement, layer or better contrast my personal experience and reaction and judgment.

I do not think critical environs or even places like the hype should be about shepherding people in certain direction or making sure we all share the same reactions.

Let us be reminded of what Derrida and postmodernism taught us: WE MAKE THE TEXT. The experience of enjoying fiction is highly personal.

So yeah, it can be another Tarzan for us, you know...

**** this ****. Just make a good movie DC. Marvel has never made a BVS level disaster EVER. Why are they so much better at this? I don't understand why DC can't get it together when those two should be great competitors
