So over/under on Ayer actually coming back for a sequel?

Ayer will be back. If there's any talks of a SSQUAD sequel, it's almost guranteed he'd be back at the helm. He's had success with the characters and getting great performance's out of the cast. That will go long ways in setting up a sequel and patching it up the right way.

Just don't let Ayer write it. Also he was pretty bad at directing Leto you know in that he didn't direct him at all /facepalm

I'm starting to think those good performances were in spite of Ayer. Yeah he gave them creative advice but this are great actors (well most of them) they don't need to be told they are looking at a fetus on a table.

Ayer coming back to direct doesn't bother me but have someone else write or have Geoff Johns write it along with Ayer

Ayer can write but I think he needs more time and not 6 weeks to put together great script. Also it doesn't hurt to have Johns and co. to look it over

Ayer wrote training day, fury and end of watch he is a good writer

not everyone's perfect but also writing should not be rushed

I'm absolutely blown away people like BvS more than SS lol I saw SS 4 times and it was fine, I couldn't even get through BvS Ultimate

Wow. Genuinely surprised. I thought you'd love it.
I'm still a supporter of DCEU. But it's turning into abusive relationship. Like it didn't have major flaws already. And if in case of MoS and especially BvS I felt they did plenty of stuff right, or the way I like it. I can't say the same about SS. When I was defending some stuff about MoS and BvS, some people told me "these characters deserve better treatment". Look like it's my turn to say the same. These characters deserve much better treatment. Oh well, at least the cast is awesome. And if we're lucky, there will be a great writer and a director to give them an opportunity to shine.
Funny because out of the DCEU's offerings, I think its the least worst. I mean I don't think any of them are good as you know, but SS at least had some entertainment value thanks to Harley, Waller, and Deadshot. MOS and BvS doesn't have any good characters like that in my book.
What's entertaining for you isn't entertaining for Snyder. It's subjective. Couple of cool/funny moments and what was shown in trailers don't save this pile... I feel like I can write walls of text why I think the movie is a total waste. Uninspired, tasteless, clueless, impotent, horribly written and horribly put together. I'm just not sure if it's worth it. I can't say the same about MoS and BvS. Even though I'm not a fan of the first and I'm slowly leaning towards BvS being a guilty pleasure of mine.

I took a shot at Ayer a few days ago when I said he couldn't direct traffic, that was unfair. He's actually written and directed some really good movies but I doubt WB moves forward with him on an SS sequel.

same here i found BVS boring, dull and plodding and it was not very fun or entertaining

atleast suicide squad despite its flaws was entertaining with engaging fun characters

lol at people thinking it's Ayer who's the problem.

Yeah...with the characters that are enjoyable in the least...kinda makes you forget about what the plot of the story is supposed to be . :p

This dumpster fire was definitely worse than MoS and BvS in my opinion.

@Greenlite For you and I was just joking around with you. :woot:

Meanwhile I found this, Killer Croc from Sideshow Collectibles.

Lol that Croc will scare the hell out of Dr Connors

First Shazam is in the DCEU that was confirmed. So they wont change that date. The one slot in 2018 will probably go to Batman. The one slot in 2019 i'm hoping for MOS 2.The slot in 2020 I'm hoping for goes to either SS2/ or a Harley spinoff(BoP movie). They can add more dates or cancel other movies(Cyborg/JL 2,but I dont think that will happen).

I heard BOF saying Batman is in 2019 at the EARLIEST, because Ben is doing that Agatha Christie movie first?

yup thats pretty much how i feel yeah the plot is kinda simple and messy at time and the villain sucks but the tone, action, characters and performances far outweigh the flaws for me

Ben is only in negotiations for that and it doesn't have a script so idk why people are saying that is coming out for sure before Batman. Especially since it's not even a sure thing yet. People who are saying that are completely guessing.

I'm torn on Ayer coming back. On the one hand, I feel like, even though he'll never come forward and say it, he may be burnt out from this whole experience and would prefer to do his own smaller projects. I wouldn't want someone who's heart is halfway in it. I don't care what he says publicly, you just KNOW this whole thing is eating at him behind closed doors and there was no way he was happy with the final product.

On the other hand, I'm wondering if Ayer was the magic ingredient behind the movie's best strength: the characters. Ayer turned SS into a fraternity with the actors and actresses and they all seem to have so much love for the guy. I'm wondering if they bring someone else in would that disrupt that "magic" that Ayer created with the cast and crew.

So I was finally able to watch this movie......
.............................................................
Comic book movie 2.0... **** Marvel... This is for the fans... Used condoms... WHAT. A. DUMPSTER. WILDFIRE.

I'm feeling ill after watching it. I'm trying to gather my thoughts. I'm in a meltdown mode. You had an absolute winner on your hands. It had a fresh concept for CBM genre. The movie didn't require to setup anything. It didn't have to compete or prove anything. It didn't have to live up to expectations... Pathetic. No imagination, no character development, no action and that villain... I don't even want to say anything good about the movie, it had some good stuff too, because I'm so frustrated and angry. The experience wasn't as painful as, say, Catwoman. Still, it's a trash. I don't regret spending money on it only for two reasons - cast (minus Leto) and I still believe DCEU deserves other chances to get it right.

Ayer, you should be kissing Marvel's feet, because they're so far beyond your level. Stay off freaking CBM sets, you *****.

3/10.

I am madly in love with you right now Boose.

Welcome to the dark side of reality.

I think you may be right. He did a lot of things to make the Squad bond. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if some of the stuff Leto did to bond the Squad against the Joker might not have been inspired by Ayer.

Unfortunately, he was thwarted by the studio on both ends. First, by having only six weeks to write the script. Then, by their decision to order reshoots and then take editing the finished film away from him. If I was Ayer, I wouldn't want to direct SS2 without assurances that he would have creative control this time around and there would be no studio meddling.

WB should have let the movie be released without any interference.

Because, plot BvS > SS, villain Lex > Enchantress. I'm sure even people who hated both films would agree with that.

BvS has a plot and an evil villain who pulls all the strings to beat up the protagonist physically and emotionally.

SS the consensus is no plot and a weak villain, redeemed by the lovable cast.

I don't have issues with BvS TC's editing and loved the UC, but SS's 1st act thanks to WB is just s***. It might get better on repeated viewings but I just thought it was loud and all over the place.

Annnd WB hasn't released the UC for SS so that doesn't help neither.

As bad as Enchantress was, she was not as annoying or cringe worthy as Eisenberg's Lex Luthor. I'd take a dozen Enchantresses over him. It was like nails on a chalk board watching that cartoonish caricature.

They should do a dance off then :cwink:
