Twilight sucks ass, and woman are known for watching garbage at the cinema and on tv
A good movie beat another good movie's record. That's it. TDK isn't some sort of sacred cow. It's the second movie in a trilogy.
Transformers is our Twilight, put it like that. Let's not assume that dudes don't have just as ******ed franchises as females do.
TDK was waaaay better than HP7-2. I don't see what is so special about this movie, it's not some sacred cow. It's the EIGHTH movie in an anthology...
The foreign market tallies always seem so fickle.
I mean is it anything but a matter of how many territories the studio chooses to release in?
Last I heard Transformers hasn't even open in the major Asian markets and Green Lantern has similar if not worse situation. Foreign markets always distort things for me. All I know is that it makes it easy for the big 3D movies to reach that billion mark which used to be so cherished.
I don't understand the foreign markets at all.
Where I'm from theater going isn't very common but what about someplace big like China? Deathly Hallows part 1 opened up to $15 Million China but in America it was a $125 Million opening. But China has FOUR times as many people as America.
Either the people in China never go to the theaters in masses or ticket prices are no more than a dollar. In theory China should be the most movie marketable place on earth because it is a rich country with far more people than America but that is not the case.

Chinese people adore foreign movies, they really do. It's all about currency being different, specifically much lower than USD. I bet one ticket there costs around $2-4.
Besides, despite the fact that China is very large as a country, I assume it has much less thatres than the United States or any other more develop country. Plus, every year, the Chinese government sets a quote of, as I remember, no more than 50 films imported from the States in order to sustain competition for the locals. Censorship also takes place in making decisions over which films to allow to be released.
Lastly, even though Chine is rapidly growing, it's still far from being considered a developed country due to inappropriate distribution of resources and low standards and quality of living.
Twilight is just so bad imo. I dont see what what people see in that stupid bella character. Edward and jacob are tolerable but that bella girl is stupid. At least TF has Optimus Prime.
Ok im sorry. rant over.

I love how Michael Bay promised such a better film with the last Transformers, admitting the flaws of the second film and swearing the third would be much better and such a great conclusion to his epic story. And we all bought into it. And Bay laughed all the way to the bank. The man is a genius.
