It's still an impressive result without the 3D, in fact 3D or not I think records were going to tumble.

I'm getting frustated.

Where in my post did I say that the results aren't impressive? I like to talk about the boxoffice and because of that I can't ignore the elephant in the room when it comes to any 3D movie. I've said this about every 3D movie this year, I'm not just bulls**ting because I hate Potter. 3D tickets are making GL's s**tty numbers look better too. It's not some covert dig at Potter or any other film. Attendence is down this year and 3D ticket prices are making this year look much better than it really is, I'm not going to ignore that fact. Sorry I'm stating boxoffice facts in a thread about boxoffice.

I think that Harry Potter is boring garbage and laugh when people call the books stories deep and consider them classics but you don't hear me b**ching about it every week.

Depends on your definition of deep but Rowling certainly does know what messages she wants to convey through her characters, and does them well enough for me to consider the books deep.

Once again missing the point. We said actual relationships, as in girls who expect people to be like Edward Cullen. I've met a girl who broke up with a guy because he wasn't like Edward.

Let's face it, Twilight has one of the worst main characters in the history of fiction. Get over it.

Random Twilight hate doesn't have to make sense. Women only starting expecting the perfect man when Twilight came out.

Say you hate the series and move on, don't start blaming it for the Iraq war and any other random thing. And also Hollywood has taught young men to think that women's breast float in the air and that all women look like a ****ty version of Megan Fox or anyother starlet. Thats more of a problem than Twilight but because Twilight is directed towards women it's worse, I get it. All they make are little boy movies but this one movie series directed towards women will ruin the world.

Like whom? Women always have an idea in mind of what the perfect man is, but it feels like, for the teenage and young 20s demographic at least, the idea was emphasized.

Thankfully the girls I know don't take Twilight seriously so it isn't a problem. Though when I meet new girls I will ask what they think of it. The answer is key.


I haven't checked any Batman boards lately so...how do they feel about their hero's reign about to end? Because it's inevitably happening with Harry Potter.

Actually, I was in here deleting a particularly obnoxious post regarding Twilight and it's fans, and warning that person not to do it again. I may hate Twilight, but I hate Twilight trolls more and I've shut down anti-Twilight threads because I despise that type of obnoxious behavior.

I simply stated why I don't like Twilight. I can even do that without resorting to censoring out half the words as to why I don't like it.

I wasn't insulting anyone. In fact, I pointed out that several my friends enjoy it.

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan. You think it's boring garbage. That's fine. I'm not insulted (and I don't think an insult was intended), and I don't think less of you for hating HP and liking Twilight. There's nothing wrong with either of those things.

But enough with the snotty comments about each other - from all sides of the argument.

2014 I believe, 3rd one in 2015. Yes I do realize that theres a good chance Avatar 2 and subsequently Avatar 3 is gonna break records. Hopefully Cameron delivers a better story this time.

Yeap Part 1 of the last movie is in November with Part 2 next November. I think its stupid Part 2 isnt coming out in the summer, instead they're gonna make you wait a year for the other half. Probably too much competition for Twilight in the summer.

Yes, I like Twilight but I don't take it seriously and I've always said that. They are poorly made books and movies but I still watch and like them. I'm not against people hating Twilight, they should as it's not good, I'm against this being the only fanbase that people are allowed to directly insult.

I was blasted for saying that Transformers was racist, sexist garbage but very few seem to be blasted for calling the fans of Twilight idiots. If they were making a bunch of Twilight like films I wouldn't be mad and confused about the hate but they aren't. They are making tons of dumb boy centric action films though.

Eventhough I see Harry Potter dropping 65 to 75% next weekend I still see it keeping the number one slot. If Cap gets dcent reviews it should open to decent numbers though.

And I hate Twilight more for riding the HP train with the Part 1/Part 2 gimmick. For Harry Potter, it feels justified but for Twilight.....just why?

Captain America will do FINE. It'll be okay. Unless the movie is horrible but it looks like one of the best comic book films to release ever.
