Saying that Goku is based off of an ancient legend is completely different from saying that he is as old as that legend. Son Goku, the character from Dragonball and later Dragonball Z, was created in 1984. He has been around for 21 years. No longer.

Still notorious? what on earth are you talking about? With the exception of the last two Budokai games, all the DBZ games sucked. And even those were avarage at best. And yes, all the Superman games sucked too. But comparing two sucky video game franchises is pointless.

*sigh* Look, all this is pointless. The thing is, were not talking about who these characters were based of of. The Monkey boy is not Goku. He did not come from space. He did not turn Super Sayian or whatever. He is just loosely based on the old myth. Just like Supes is loosely based on a number of characters, from Hercules to freakin Moses.

The Fact remains is that Superman was created in the 1930's by two Jews from New York, and Goku was created by a Japanese guy in 1980. Superman is a pop culture Icon. You ask anybody, on the street, go out there and 100 people, right now, I bet you more of em know who Superman is than Goku. Now, I don't know if your serious, I think your purposly acting clueless because it's funny. (And it is by the way. Takes a lot to get me to rant.) But for the sake of arguement, lets say that you really don't know what your talking about, please, trust me on this, Superman has been around for more than 50 years before Goku was even a glimer in his creators eye.

no actually no one claimed that. They were trying to show the absurdity of your argument. By claiming since a character is based off something old he is that old. Technically all western heroes are as old as homer's inspired texts since the atypical hero follows a similar pattern, uses a similar physque and performs similar feats
