Yep, most of that sounds about how i was expecting. However, the most intriguing part there is, "this lays the groundwork for next year's crossover." I'm guessing that means the point in introducing the Monitor here is to set up for the Anti-Monitor next year.

I smell either Crisis On Infinite Earths or Infinite Crisis. If they are to pull this off they must involve all series, including Legends and Batwoman if she gets a series order.

I’m still curious as to which Earth Batwoman will hail from. Up to now, the signs have been pointing to Earth 1 (not my preference). In this article, however, Earth 38 is implied. I.e.: Ollie and Barry visit Kara to see if she can help sort out their wacky identity swap. Then, Clark and Lois make an appearance. Then, the investigation leads Ollie, Barry and Kara to Gotham City…

Therefore, Earth 38…?

On the other hand… In the Batwoman teaser/promo, Ollie and Barry argue about whether Batman is real or an urban legend. But why would they argue about a figure who exists in an alternative reality and who (presumably) they’ve never heard of?

Therefore, the Gotham our heroes visit is on Earth 1…?

Despite me wanting her on E38, I'm thinking she's going to on E1. But, it's up in the air. Barry and Cisco could go to on Earth 38, or Superman and Lois could go to Earth 1 or they're on another Earth entirely - or the Monitor has created a combined universe where they all exist for the duration of the event.

I'm avoiding reading too many spoilers and behind the scenes stuff, so I hope I'm surprised when I see it!

But why would that matter? He just has to show up and say his lines. He's not going to be allowed to spew any political propaganda. People in the film and TV industry are going to still have to work with each other regardless of their political affiliations.

Well they don't need to socialise. He just can come in, rattle off his lines and be on his way. They could get a stand in, but they need the real person there and not some wax figure or puppet. We don't want anyone saying "no puppet, no puppet, no you're the puppet!"

Also, I have friends who are Trump supporters. We can still be civil with each other, and make sure never to talk about that stuff but leave it alone like an orange elephant in the room.

Well even I'm not like me and my friends. I might not talk about it with them for the sake of the friendship, unless really pushed, but I'll generally just think less of them behind their back.

It’s not so much actors working with other actors. It’s the showrunners (obviously very liberal) willing to hire vocal conservatives. But perhaps said showrunners are scrupulously open-minded. After all, they also cast Kevin Sorbo - another Trump supporter.

I don't really think it's probably to do with politics though. Maybe Dean Cain is simply busy or they haven't really wanted to pursue that storyline. At the moment, if they did, it would be filler. Where would it fit in with the alien threat and Agent of Liberty?

Same with the Hank Henshaw/ Cyborg Superman plot which they mention in that article, which David doesn't want to pursue at the moment because he's enjoying playing J'onn J'onzz too much.

Politics as a reason for doing anything is most often pretty stupid. Having different view points should not be a reason to not work together, for either side. The only way I could see it becoming problematic is if one or the other becomes too bellicose or pushy, or starts taking things personally.

I would hope more that it is merely conflicts in timing. I'm sure Cain does other things than appearing every now and then on Supergirl. Plus, whose to say that the show runners aren't planning for his return while we speculate?

Though I would like to see Henshaw brought to a close, finally. I've stated before, I'd love to see Kara's father, Zor-el, return as the actual Cyborg Superman and take Henshaw out before taking the name for himself.

I had to look this up to see what it was about. I've seen tweets where he apparently said he's pro choice and mentions support for gay rights.

I don't really think it's to do with anything that he hasn't shown up. After all, it's not like Cain suddenly changed his views drastically in the last 2 years or that Supergirl became a completely different show. They knew who he was all that time before when they used him and he knew what he was getting into before.

I think life just happens sometimes and people are occupied with other things, or the writers decide they don't want to tackle that story yet.

What happens if Dean Cain does show up later in the season or next season? What, suddenly there's not a problem anymore about any of his affiliations? All these theories will be out of the window.
