In absolute terms, yes. Relative to their respective network averages, no.

What are some numbers as far as that's concerned, I understand that the CW of course does not have the viewership that CBS does, but is there somewhere where we could see a specific averaging of the numbers? that would be interesting to see so as to gauge this next season.

For example, if a show on CBS has an average of 7 million viewers how would that compare to the CW's viewership?

or an average demo of 1.6 on CBS as compared to the CW?

Is there a site to go to or something?

Isnt the CW switching networks? Im sure that'll have an impact as well, not sure if UPN/Channel 50 w/e its called has a wider market.

In its first season, Supergirl was THE most-watched comic-book television series currently airing, beating out not only every single one of the CW's superhero series, but also beating out ABC's Agents of Shield and FOX's Gotham and Lucifer... and by a significant margin.

It's viewership will go down of course, the CW is not in all markets as CBS is....

So don't freak out when the numbers are lower...lol

Yes in raw numbers, but when you look at ratio, then you have to view the CW a little differently than you would CBS or ABC.

OK, back to more important stuff..... :)

I know it is losing at least one Nielson live viewing...

Here is the thing though.....in the business end of it, that is ok. Advertisers because of the CW's specific niche audience, and the fact that Supergirl fits that niche they are willing to pay more.
Bringing in Supergirl....
The CW pressed for increases in the rate of reaching 1,000 viewers – a metric known as a CPM that is integral to these annual talks between U.S. TV networks and Madison Avenue – in the low-double digit percentage range. Last year, the CW scored CPM increases of in the range of just 4%.
Last year the 4% increase was primarily due to The Flash getting a 2nd season, and doing so well its 1st season.

I think the switch over to the CW is a win/win for everyone.... :)

Where's that from?

Twitter... ;)

I thought it showed just how similar in color their suits are....many have said that they wished Superman's was brighter, like Supergirls....right there they look the same.

Here is one, that is not a picture from a screen....

i wasn't specifically referring to Supergirls viewership.

I was referring to the network switch with CW moving away from WGN to Fox Television Stations-owned WPWR which is channel 50. Not positive if more people get that station than WGN and whether or not we'd see an overall increase or decrease across all the shows.

I know i have PS Vue, which doesnt have wgn/CW but it has channel 50. Ive been watching the shows on hulu the past year.

oooooh, well, I have no clue about that stuff....:csad:

You won't be able to watch them on Hulu this coming season. :csad: They are moving all to Netflix. BUT....you can stream them on the CW website. :)

Despite the S with the blue background, Kara's suit still looks more classic than Kal-El's suit. I think it's partly the more classic cape attachment she has, and maybe also the red belt he wears instead of gold, and maybe the lack of underpants. Maybe if he had a red and gold belt though it might look different.

On another note, has Superman ever revealed what his real name is to the public? Not Clark, but Kal-El?

And how come Cat never asked Supergirl what her real name was? Or did she? Of course, she couldn't answer, because if she said "Kara", then expected Cat to not believe that Kara-Zor-El and Kara Danvers are one and the same, then she'd really have to take her boss for a fool.

It is awesome to see Superman and Supergirl together in costume fighting side-by-side.

I hope Superman recurs beyond two episodes and I agree he should be saved for the big ones such as the mega-crossover.

In the comics, the only time that Clark didn't have both of his parents alive prior to his becoming Superman was in the pre-Crisis continuity.

In the post-Crisis continuity, both of his parents survived and were frequent recurring characters in his adventures.

They're currently dead in the New 52/Rebirth continuity, but were also still alive at the time he became Superman.

With the notable exception of Smallville, which much like the Donnerverse saw Jonathan Kent die of a heart attack. Or in MOS, which saw Jonathan sacrifice his life to protect his son when a tornado struck (the so-called "Tornadocide").

In MOS, I recall Jonathan got killed by a Sharknado.

Seeing all these BTS news I wonder if having two or three episodes for every super villain would work better than a villain of the week.

Is it just me or does Supergirl seem to have the more active fan base of the CW shows right now?

It definitely would, that is actually the format that they adopted towards the end of Gotham season 1 and gotham Season 2, it was the great and really allowed the show to get better as we were allowed to spend time with our antagonists (I specifically love the two parter with Gerald Crane), as it went with an organic introduction in arc episode 1 alongside a different main villain for the episode, villainification in arc episode 2, and capture, escape or death in arc episode 3.

Yeah, maybe fewer villains would be better.

Although I didn't really like the way Silver Banshee suddenly had this makeover. It was all very rushed. I was hoping she'd already have developed her powers and new appearance before the Flash came along.

And I hope the fire brigade do not end up saving Kara again this season.

I wish it was just a natural transformation with her in some heavily tattered and destroyed clothes.

That's what I was hoping for too. I wanted it that she had an actual physical transformation somehow, not that she just decided to have a girly makeover at Livewire's behest.

I think it really needed an extra episode before that Flash crossover.

And yet Miss Makeover keeps running around in the same clothes she had on, when she received her powers. That whole scenario was just stupidly written.

Yeah, it should definitely have been a two parter.

The transformation aspect would have been very easy as well, using her powers drains her and makes her more skeletal very easy and pretty logical (relatively speaking) then just have her clothing get extensively battle damaged (but still have convenient coverage of course) and just something as simple as that would have improved that scenario without the need for another episode/expanding it into a two-parter (although a two-parter would have been better).

If you live in the US and live near a big city then you should be able to pull in a major TV network with an OTA(over the air) antenna. This may be considered old school with streaming services available but OTA reception isn't going away just yet. ATSC 3.0 is still planned for the future to suport 4K OTA. I recorded all of season 1 of SG from OTA.
