if Superman proves to be a hit, I wouldn't mind getting a Superman spin off show.

they could alternate between the Supergirl and Superman shows at different times of the year.

so far, this Superman is sounding very much like the live action Superman I've been wanting to see on screen.

I would freaking love that but I can't see it. Maybe they could give us a mini series of some sort.

I am very open to different interpretations of the Man of Steel (love George Reeve's, Chris Reeve, Lois & Clark, Smallville, Man of Steel/BvS, Various different comic and animation versions, etc) but this one sounds very close to been exactly like my Superman.

This is my dream. This Superman's been in the public eye as Superman for over 12 years, so they could start filling in some of that history via a mini-series or something. Seeing a mini-series version of Superman: Birthright come to life would basically be my version of Heaven, lol.

Oh lord me too, Birthright is my favourite Superman comic origin :hmr:

Of course, my dream version would be on HBO so it could get a significantly larger budget than CW can offer, but even in my dreams I'd take what I could get. ;)

One of my more realistic dreams though is that we get a version of the Johns' Brainiac storyline with this Clark and Kara. It seems like one of the most famous storylines to feature both characters, so it's hard not to imagine the showrunners going for it (or at least some take on it) eventually.

The thing is, there is a another part here. A Metropolis without James Olsen, and presumably an older Lois Lane. I would think that is worth at least a two parter if not a spinoff.

Are you referring to the Birthright or Brainiac suggestion?

Because if it's the former, they can cast someone age appropriate for Hoechlin that would be (like him) playing a character older than her age for Lois this show, and a younger character for Birthright. And they could just cast a younger actor as Jimmy, that wouldn't be such an issue, I wouldn't think.

And if it's Brainiac you're referring to, yes some aspects would of course have to be altered to fit the show's continuity.

Probably more Braniac. Nothing against birthright, but Superman's origin has been seen a lot. I'm just interested in what this show's version of Metropolis is.

Yeah I think that's fair actually we have seen the origin a lot, just a mini series maybe like Legends was as its shorter than the other shows.

Andrew Kriesberg talks about Supergirl's version of Maggie Sawyer.

Question: Can we get any scoop on Supergirl‘s version of Maggie Sawyer? I can’t wait to see Floriana Lima in the role. — Chelsea

Ausiello: In short, Maggie “is an ally,” says showrunner Andrew Kreisberg. As a detective with the Science Police — aka the division of the NCPD that deals with “anything that’s out of the ordinary” — “We’ll be bumping into Maggie a lot, and questions of jurisdiction will be coming up,” he adds. “Maggie is a strong proponent for alien rights, which is going to be [a theme].” (Alas, when we tried to bait Kreisberg with the notion that Maggie and Alex will at first lock horns only to later share sparks of a different kind, he… indicated nothing.)

Because of the DCEU I really doubt WB would allow a solo superman show to come to fruition since they wouldn't want to 'dilute' the character they're trying to re-establish in their cinematic universe.
I don't see a problem with having 2 supermen on tv and movies since SR came out during smallville's run (although smallville wasn't technically superman but still) and I think if they do a 6 or 8 or 10 episode series instead of the 20+ episode series they usually do then it could work.
Personally I always wanted to see a mini series based on Kurt Busiek's 'superman: my secret identity' graphic novel, which would be the perfect way to have a superman story in the 'real world'.

It's gonna depend on how well it's received, many have speculated (and before a certain someone chirps in its speculation) that they've been given permission to use Superman for 2 episodes only. But given they'll probably get a huge boost in ratings he'll most certainly be back. I reckon any sort of solo series right now is off the table but if the reception is good it may open the door to many possibilities.

Time for a spoiler alert! E Online is reporting on the upcoming TV season including Supergirl.

Here is what we know...

What to Expect: Supergirl's on the move! Just networks, not timeslots. Season 2 of Supergirl will air on The CW and in addition to the returning series regular cast (Calista Flockhart will recur) is Teen Wolf's Tyler Hoechlin as Superman, Sharon Leal as Miss Martian, Lynda Carter as the president and Chris Wood as Mon-El. And there will be crossovers. In addition to a massive one likely featuring all of The CW's DC Comics shows, there is going to be a musical crossover with The Flash.

BUT THEN COMES THIS...

Plus, there's going to be a new hangout. Be on the lookout for a new dive bar where aliens gather, a safe haven. It's where J'onn J'onzz will meet Miss Martian for the first time.

interesting idea....

Yes I like that, sounds a little [BLACKOUT]Men in Black[/BLACKOUT] which I'm down for

Pumped up! I vote on the Sups spin off. So far everything looks awesome with the character.

I honestly would sacrifice every other DC show and the DCEU (which I also love) for a quality Superman TV show. I actually feel like Superman and superheroes in general work better on TV than in the films.

Well, I wouldn't sacrifice Flash and Supergirl for a Supes show, maybe Legends, definitely Arrow. I do agree with you on superheroes mostly working better on tv, the episodic format allows them to tell stories in a manner more akin to how they're told in the comics, and allows them to adapt a lot more stories and characters, though the lower budget does hold them back from certain things.

And yeah, I like the DCEU, but it has yet to knock my socks off, there've definitely been episodes on the various shows that I've enjoyed more than any of the films so far, I'd totally sacrifice it for a Supes show, heck, I'd sacrifice it just to get rid of the stupid character embargoes.

We all have our price as they say lol for me it's Superman over all over characters so even though I love The Flash and Supergirl give me Superman over both any day.

We may not get a Superman series but Berlanti is helping develop another superhero show.

http://www.cbr.com/dcs-black-lightning-in-development-for-television/

Its a series on Black Lightning. Hes based out of Metropolis. Wonder if the series would be connected to the Supergirl universe.
Veeery interesting.

It would be weird if it were set in the Flarrowverse, in their Metropolis without Superman. I'd rather see it set in the Supergirl-verse, mainly just because that would mean more Supes for me. :oldrazz:
