It's actually not too bad. Like Batman's design, did Aquaman get a change at all, the silver parts on Wonder Woman should be replaced by gold, but I'm not digging Superman at all.

Am I the only one that doesn't see a problem with Supes new design? It's different, sure, but people aren't ever going to completely forget supes original costume, and chances are it'll make an appearance in the comics anyway in one form or another.

Also, his suit doesn't look like armour to me... more just an aesthetic design. It reminds me of the outfits from Bryan Singer's X-Men movies... whatever material they were made out of.

Just read that Superman's new suit at the comics is a "Kryptonian Ceremonial Armor" which confirms his new suit is armor . . . . . .

The Man of Steel doesn't need armor. . . .

thanks catlas for statement. for some reason a lot of people get needlessly upset for Supes' costume changes. this not the first his suit has been altered; that includes a full unitard and no red pants. as you pointed out the same complaints were about the new suit design in SUPERMAN RETURNS. and it has become the standard prove of this is in the SMALLVILLE FINALE. find nothing wrong so far with either outfit yet.

besides battle armor and ceremonial or dress armor are to different things. the suit and the S insignia always represented his kryptonian heritage and family. it wasn't until recently that the S represented the KENTS AND THE HOUSE OF EL.

basically before ripping the new design give it a chance to be seen first for awhile people.

saying the simple version the suit represents his superiority or that fact that supes doesn't need armor (he is armor) is an interesting observation. but supes never were his costume for that effect. besides his suit is not really armor as would be use for battle. it is made of kryptonian material and style. therefore it is or can be nearly indestructible compared to what exist on earth.

Crisis on Infinite Earth's and then Zero Hour both preceded Heroes reborn...which ultimately got reversed fairly quickly anyway.

You might even be able to toss in there the drastic changes of Flash and Green Lantern when Super heroes came back in style in the late 50's, early 60's.
