Superman Returns Superman's Posey Talks Kitty

first cartoon dont count since they are for kids. yeah i said it: cartoons are for kids :o.
i didnt like the cheeze factor in spiderman .it didnt ruin the movie for me but it would be better without it. of course there will always be humor in this kind of movies since they are also for kids. you just need find a balance between all this stuff.

if SR is like spiderman it would be perfect. singer said it will be a mix between spiderman and x-men. of course this was a lye for me sice kitty will be the main humore in this movie and this humor is bigger than x-men and spiderman together. so it will not be like this. i still hope i am wrong and it will be a mix between SM and x-men.

if singer has balls than we will se how lex punches kitty in teh face. or he pushes her to the ground.

Yeah, cause it takes "balls" to show somebody hitting a woman. You people get very sick in the head sometimes.

I agree

I don't really mind cheesy, and even a little humor, but I don't want to see things like a guy drowning in his car parked over a fire hydrant.and yes I know thats superman 3.that was just to much.I mean come on,what did he drive a fred flintstone mobile.

I agree with all of the above points. I'm expecting cheesy from this movie. I always have. I liked that Spider-man wasn't afraid to be melodramatic and cheesy and I only wish there could have been more humor in them since Raimi decided to dwell a bit too much on Peter's angst. I thought it was fine though. It really made me care about Peter. I just wish that I could care about Spider-man the same way.

I hope that Singer learns from Raimi's mistake. I want everything that Spider-man did and turn it up to eleven. I want high action, a lot of cheesy humor, and good drama.

I hope they kill off Lex and Kitty is the main villain in the sequels :p

I'm not a big fan of Posey's... nor am I really a big fan of Lex having a bimbo girlfriend. That was one problem I had with Donner's Superman. I don't think Miss Tesmacher's change of heart towards the end really counts as any type of redemption. She only helps Superman so he'll go save her mother. If Lex hadn't sent off that second missile, she wouldn't have batted an eye at the fact that he was about to kill MILLIONS of people. Superman should have hauled her ass off to the women's prison. Then we might have gotten a good shower scene with her in Superman 2. :D

Without some humor it just wouldn't be right. This isn't X-Men or Batman, Superman lives in a place that is brighter and full of characters that use humor. I think that Singer will use the right blend of humor and seriousness to make it good. I do agree that there needs to be some type of humor in there though.

Its an Action/Fantasy film... it cant be deadly serious. That would ruin the whole thing.

But I think Kitty shouldn;t be campy.

There is only one character who should be campy, JIMMY OLSEN.

lets hope that noone is campy cinemaman. i think there is a diference between campy characters and characters with humor.

and wasnt it said that even jimmy will be also very serious and funny?

:D whatever dude. I love it. Shows how awesome Lex is.

I cant say something about this. Sorry guys, but I can say that it isn't good idea. I thought there will be strong dramatic storyline between Lex and Kitty.

 No big mistake. He doesnt even give a damn about her. Shes just his accessory, his h*e.

First of all, I didn`t like Donners interpretation on Lex Luthor, period. That wasn`t and will never be the Lex Luthor i like to see. The Lex Luthor i love is the one loved by people but is pulling the strings behind the scenes. THe Lex Luthor from Superman for all seasons and from Man of Steel. The Lionel Luthor from Smallville. Its the one who is jelous of Superman for thinking people like him more. The one who thinks Superman stole his metropolis, not the one who wants to conquer the world. Just because i don`t agree with your point of view, doesn`t give you the right to think i`m not a fan of Superman or that i`m childish, imateur, just for expressing my anthipathy with some of Singer`s decisions.
Matches Malone, Joker and Lex Luthor are totally diferent characters. You can`t compare Jack Nicholsons portrayal of an insane, crazy character with Lex Luthor. Lex Luthor isn`t insane, crazy, in my opinion. He is egocentrical but he doesn`t thin he is evil. He just is. He doesn`t go around saying, "Look! I`m evil, look", "I`m going to conquer the world!" Thats Brain from Pinky and the Brain, not Lex Luthor.
I just wanted to see the Luthor from the 90`s with LexCorp and all. This is without a doubt, the best version of the character. I`m talking about stories like the Unauthorized Biography of Lex Luthor, i`m talking about Superman for all Seasons. I`m talking about Man of Steel. Those stories are really good. The Lex Luthor who is a greedy billionaire. This is more in tune to what we see nowadays. This is a more realistic version of the character.
I really don`t mind humour but i don`t want Donner campy humor. The Lex Luthor who says "i`m the greatest criminal mind" of our time type of humour.
I don`t like the fact Luthor is a mob boss in this movie. I don`t like the fact he has a gang who goes to cause trouble in metropolis and shooting people. And i don`t like the fact that he has a campy girlfriend.Sorry, folks. Thats just my opinion.

That's your opinion, and you're welcome to it. Well said, too.

I don't agree with it for the most part (although Luthor in SFAS was great - and had a humorous side).

I prefer a Lex who is the complete opposite of Superman. A man so egotistical and attention-starved that his frail humanity won't stop him. He'll go to bat against Superman just because he can. It's a challenge for him. It makes the villain more interesting, more so than a standard corporate exec. I don't want Lex Luthor to be in the same league as an oil tycoon from a Steven Seagal movie.

Actually, the type of villain that Spacey played in Usual Suspects is in the ballpark for me.

Don't be silly. It doesn't take balls to hit a woman, but in certain circumstances it can take them to SHOW it in a film. And showing it doesn't mean you condone it.

If Lex DID hit kitty I'd certainly say that Singer had some balls to do that - and that doesn't mean either I or Singer would think what Lex did is okay (hint: he's the villain, he's supposed to be a bastard). I doubt we'll see him do it though - Lex can hurt with words far better than with hands - I certainly hope we see some of that.

I still think Miss Teschmacher Mark 4 (after Lorelei Ambrosia in Superman 3 and Miss Morganberry from the Ruby Spears cartoon) is a dissapointingly bad idea. Lex shouldn't even look twice at such a woman.

yeah!

i'll still hold my judgement until i see the movie, because as far as lex goes, i think he looks great... it's kitty and his cronies i'm worried about. i just hope lex has a very dry, deliberate sense of humor, instead of a hackman-esque style.

this is what i dont understand. why would lex be with a girl like her? just why?

Hes using her just for his public image. Shes just a possession. Hes not really 'with' her or cares.

One word: Sex. haahaha But not even this is a excuse cause if he is rich, he can get any woman he wants to. Except Lois. Thats what i loved about LOis & Clark season 1.

Just to make myself clear. I think Spacey will be great in this movie .I`m just worried about Kitty and his godamman "gang".

This is a type of film in which that sort of gratuity will be very out of place. I am not against violence being shown when it has a point. The excuse "to show Lex's eeeeeeeevil side!" is simply not a valid excuse for somebody to strike a defenseless woman. Call me old-fashioned, but that sort of pointless display is just not excusable when it has no point. It's not balls. It's simply a type of exploitation.

I wouldn't. I would say that Singer was sloppily trying to make up for bad writing by adding gratuitous crap. The end of your paragraph above is how good writing shows characterization.

I still think Miss Teschmacher Mark 4 (after Lorelei Ambrosia in Superman 3 and Miss Morganberry from the Ruby Spears cartoon) is a dissapointingly bad idea. Lex shouldn't even look twice at such a woman.

Superman 3 didn't have Lex Luthor in it.

I guess we'll just have to disagree on what you all think this movie's flavor should be. I want a supremely fun, epic, and uplifting film. You all seem to want nothing more than a black and white, boring, and safe story.

Why? We really don't know much about his gang. They could end up being serious henchmen...we don't know yet. People need to realize these people are ACTORS and just becaue Kal Penn was in a comedy before SR doesn't mean he will be playing the same type of character in SR as he did in Harold and Kamar. Seth Green is a really funny guy in the comedies he has been in but he was also great and very serious as a computer genious in Enemy of The State.
