Supernatural - Season 4

I think every show out there, that has 22 episode seasons, have filler episodes. Each filler episode in season 4 always came back to the overall season arc in some form, IMO.

I'm not complaining about the filler eps we've seen... I'm contending that they should cut them next season and give us as much arc-oriented stuff as possible, since it's the APOCALYPSE and all. Fillers wouldn't fit.

And every ep from this past Jan/Feb was filler, and half them were just... eh.

I don't know. I mean the breaking of the seals was a huge thing and they had filler episodes (which were connected to the season arc in some form, IMO). Even if the apocaylpse is throughout the next season, we most likey have filler episodes (I still enjoy them). I can't expect the writers to do 22 episodes focusing on the season arc alone.

So what, they're just going to wander off and fight random demons for a week or three, and no one's going to say "Damn, I wonder why everything's on fire and there are dead people everywhere?"

I don't want to turn on my TV on Thursday and find out that the show is just going to, for all intents and purposes, ignore the Apocalypse for a week. They did that last year... and outside of sneaking 1-2 minutes of Apocalypse oriented talk into the end, there were a number of episodes that ignored the overall arc. Some didn't even have the 1-2 minutes.

Let's see what the apocalypse is actually going to be like before deciding if they should have filler episodes or not.

For all we know, Lucifer's going to need time to corrupt the world. And in the mean time, he's going to throw demon-of-the-week type obstacles in their path that will provide the filler episodes.

See that's not a filler episode, as long as its written correctly.

A filler is "Hey, lets go fight a bunch of reject magicians led by Barry Bostwick."

That's a filler episode.

I'm not saying the fillers have been totally bad. Some have (IMO), but others have been enjoyable.

I'm just saying that I don't want to get away from the real plot next year, when things are really going to start getting hairy with the whole end of the world Dean vs. Satan thing.

I doubt the apocalypse will last the entire season. like wiegeabo said, we're not sure if Lucifer is going to kill everyone right away or it will take time to corrupt people. I'm sure the show doesn't have a big enough budget to show the apocalypse for 22 episodes straight.

yeah i think so too. its prolly gonna be like a corrupt the world thing for like 17 episodes and have the last five-ish have the real stuff. or at least i hope so. its the last season and the stakes are supposed to be huge! i hope the budget can handle what i want to see.

I love the fillers for this show. I had a fun time watching that Monster episode.

Yeah, I liked that ep. Plus one of my fav eps of the series so far has been the one with them working on a hollywood movie set, from season 3.

yes...after my tests and course work.

I saw the second season premiere when it aired but then started to miss an episode again and again and just never got back into it until season 4.

Season 4 comes to dvd the first of september.

This show mixes the comedy so well. One ep can be so much about the horror, then one ep can be so funny, then the nxt can be so dramatic.

Or sometimes all in one.

Thats why I like the show so much. And it doesn't try so hard to mix the together, they just flow well.

Yeah, that's the ep. It's easly in my top 5 of all time fave eps.

I also thought it was funny how MCg poked fun at himself.
