Survivor: One World

Kim definitely has a F3 deal with Tarzan. Also, the amount of people who willingly settle for 5th or 6th place perplexes me. You'd have to go all the way back to Brenda's boot in Nicaragua (S21) to find a real power shift. And the worst part is these people are going to whine about being on the block when their time does come...well hey, maybe you shouldn't have voted out everyone who was trying to help you!

Not going to rehash what Matt has already said, but I will say how ridiculous it sounds for the people in the majority to expect the people who are expecting to be voted off to "be a man about it" and accept their fate like sheep. What Chelsea said to Troyzan in camp was crazy and then for Sabrina and Chelsea to go after him in tribal and act as talk as though he brought this on himself by acting cocky or loud?!

Unless a MAJOR blindside occurs and Kim gets taken out, then she's pretty a lock for the money.

Kat is adorable...she flips from completely brain-dead..."Hey, there's bacon in this BLT" to making completely rational comments like her advice in camp to stay calm and just flush the idol out if everythinks Troyzan has it.

This season went from being pretty good to stale real fast, about the time Colton's appendix decided to crap out. I've never seen such an obvious winner as Kim appears to be and it seems no one in this season wants to make a big move. After last night's episode the finish is going to be pretty much cookie cutter now. Right now I'm predicting a final 3 of Kim, Chelsea, and some goat...probably Alicia or Tarzan. The only drama left will be seeing these people who thought they were in it til the end get picked off now like Sabrina or Kat. Getting so sick of this show being so damn boring these last few seasons but unfortunately its like a drug and there is always hope for that next season to be the one that recaptures some golden moments but it just never seems to happen.

I'm getting tired of players at the bottom of the pecking order being too afraid to make a big move. They always get ballsy when it's too late. Last night would have been the time to make a move. I swear I think some of these players are dead between the ears.

I'm really hoping Troyzan puts a run together. I'm pulling for him at this point (although I could do without all of the primal screaming).

Just finished watching the Survivor One World - Ponderosa videos on YouTube and the guys all seemed to acknowledge that the girls are running the table and that they should have realized it sooner. Mike and Jay both talked about the "solid" alliance they had with Kim, Chelsea, Sabrina and Kat. I'm sure that will be a recurring theme as Tarzan, Christina and Alicia show up in the next few weeks. (After Troyzan of course...if he doesn't win immunity).

The Ponderosa camp seems pretty sedate right now...not sure it will stay that way after Tarzan shows up, considering his childish rants with Jonas. A couple women in the camp might get things going too.

I disagree. Why do you think that three people wrote down Tarzan's name? If an idol were played for Leif, Tarzan would have gone home. It was a calculated move that said very loudly that Tarzan is gone after Troyzan.

Gotta hand it to Kim, her game is flawless.

Also, I hate to say it, but it is unfortunate that Colton is gone. He added a dynamic that this game sorely lacks.

By the way, does anyone else think that the tribe knows that Kim has an immunity idol? I remember in Redemption Island, the cast said at the reunion show that they knew Rob had an idol the whole time (even though it was edited to seem that everyone was oblivious to the fact). I think that people may be aware of Kim's idol and that may explain why no one will make a move. Troyzan's plan wouldn't have the votes to split it. So yeah, that may explain Christina, Alicia and Tarzan's reluctance. Regardless, it is time for hidden idols to go, IMO.

That's a great point about Kim and the idol. To be honest, I forgot she has one and that is a decent explanation for why no one is making a move against her.

I don't know if they know or not. If so, I'm certain the guys don't; Troyzan didn't because I don't think he would have lobbied against her...he would have directed his attack against one of her henchman (probably Chelsea or Sabrina to break up the alliance). I doubt Tarzan knows because he seems pretty clueless overall and Leif didn't because he voted for Kim at Tribal (another obviously wasted vote if he knew she had it).

I don't know if she would tell Sabrina because if anyone is a challenge to her in the strategy department, it would be her.

If they don't know she has an idol already and she told Sabrina in private, I'd have no doubt Sab would try to flush it out. She's too smart to let something like that float by unnoticed.

It is always hard to believe when people just play like sheep even when it should be obvious that it will only get them to fifth or sixth. Troyzan had things figured out 100% correctly and spelled it out for the lame four but even so they blindly chose to follow the four women...

Survivor is a numbers game and should be played as such, when a new alliance gets you further you should take it.

I agree.

Maybe they do it because of the money and other opportunities you might have after the game is over? Maybe they know full well they won't win but also know they'd rather go late into the game and be remembered then go earlier after ****ing up an attempted blindside.

Hasn't it been confirmed runner ups still get like $1,000? That could be motive enough for people in even a semi-good spot to not rock the boat.

A $1,000... something that could have been easily made.. at work in less time then suffering of Survivor.. ya I suppose that is motivation.. ;)

A $1,000 doesn't seem like a lot of motivation when you can take gamble at $1M or $150K b making a big move. I'd take my chances at the big payoff.

I really think that the problem this season is that to many weak players made it far into the game. Christina, Alicia, Leif and Tarzan are all piss poor players who haven't shown any signs of really playing the game. From what I can tell they all seemed to hope that by being as pathetic as possible that they would be targeted later or maybe somehow survive long enough for the core alliance to break apart.

I'm not sure on the exact number but that's probably incentive enough for some players if they know they're a pawn in the game and have no real chance of winning. You also didn't factor in the chance for other money making opportunities after the show is over. It's still probably not $1 mil but it might be worth not risking a blindside over.

If $1,000, or even $10,000, is enough motivation for some of the players then they're doing a poor job selecting contestants.

I'd want hungry, competitive people (plus some characters) chasing that million bucks.

Honestly, I think it just comes down to weak group this season.

I wouldn't say this cast is significantly weaker (if at all) than most other seasons. Every season has their weak players that do nothing but latch on to stronger players (sheeple)...hell, Sandra won the damn thing multiple times and she's a weak player that did nothing but hide in the shadows.

I think the days of truly strong, strategic players that remain active in the game actually winning in the end are pretty much done. After 22 seasons, there's not really any big surprise plays that someone can do or create some strategy that hasn't been done before.

I firmly believe they should stop voting for the game winner immediately after the final tribal council...wait at least a week, possibly two before voting. It will allow some of the emotion of being voted off, blindsided, etc. to wear off and let the jury members actually think about who played strategically...who truly outwitted, outlasted and outplayed the competition.

No, what they need to do is to isolate the people who have been voted off from one another so that one person with a grudge can't poison everyone else's opinions.

It really isn't fair that after managing to vote someone off without that person knowing it was you who was behind it to then have it told to them at the loser lodge. The only information that players should be able to base their vote on is what they learned while in the game and what they heard at tribal.

Players that go deep into the game get way more money than $1,000. I think the first castaway voted off gets something between $1,500-$3000 just for being there for three days.

Winner of course gets $1mil, I pretty sure second place gets $250k and then it goes down increments from there. So yea I could possibly see how money could play a factor in people not wanting to rock the boat, especially of they have no chance of winning anyway.

Sorry for the double post but I have to disagree with making them wait to vote for the winner.
That leaves the door way too wide open for them to find out information that they shouldn't have access too or for bribery or manipulation.

I think the jury as it is right now works fine, it's players that still don't understand how to put people on the jury that is the problem.

I agree with T. You give the editor WAY too much power if you let them vote after the show airs.

I'm not saying wait until after the show airs, because there are a couple months or more from the time the last tribal is held to when the live show occurs. A couple weeks of being at "Ponderosa" to allow cooler heads to prevail is better than what we've seen in the past several years or more, which is people voting out of anger or jealousy as opposed to the true premise of the game. For example, Russell played perhaps the best game ever and was not given the money because people were pissed off at him.

Having watched all the "Ponderosa's", the people that are voted off DO talk to one another, they don't see the edited footage that you and I do, but they talk to one another. The only one's that don't really have an opportunity to do much are the last people that are voted off.

It's people at "Ponderosa" talking to each other that often makes the jury so bitter and angry. Players talk to players who were voted out after they themselves were and find out that player X was lying to them or something. It also wouldn't surprise me at all that some players are bitter enough at getting voted out that they resort to lying to sabotage who ever they blame for their getting voted out.

I know that often I've been really surprised by the juries reaction to the final three. People who shouldn't have any reason to be angry at someone all of a sudden unload on that person as if they knew stuff they should know. It makes it really hard to predict who will win before the vote.
