This is one of those movies that while in alot of ways, it's a really bad movie, but you just have a great time being there. One thing I really hope is that if they're going to do a sequel and they film on a short budget again, just skip the CGI. That was probably the worst part of the film for me. The worst part was when Steve Austin was on fire. Geez it would have been cheaper to get a stunt double in a flame suit, and would have looked 1000 times better. Or at the end when the knife goes through Eric Roberts.

That's really my biggest complain of the movie. I loved the chase scene, with Lundgren and Stallone, that was the best part of the movie, and when they went to the more traditional filming methods, the movie worked well.

I gave the film a 7/10, but it's so close to being a 9/10. Then again without the stuff that worked it could have been a 2/10. Hopefully the sequel is better.

Will The Expendables still be in American theaters by early October? I won't be able to see it until then.

Mostly like it will not be in the main theaters by then. It might be in some cheap theaters though. Then again I don't know it might still be playing in main theaters it depends. Because one of my main theaters still has that crappy movie Grown Up's still playing.

Oh ok, thanks. I was really hoping to see this on the big screen, guess I'll wait until it's on cable or for rent

That reminds me of the story of how Gene LaBelle kicked Seagal's butt on the set of a movie when he was being pissy towards the extras.

So you plan on seeing this movie C. Lee?

Absolutely. I'll probably see it Wednsday.

Nice! Hope you like it. I plan on seeing it again today if possible. Take a couple of my sisters who wanted to watch it.

This was an awesome movie. I saw it on friday and LOVED it. Terry Crews and his AA-12 was badass beyond reason. There was just soo much kickass stuff going on it was hard to calculate

The cast all did it for massively reduced salaries. That's why Danny Trejo dropped out, he wanted more money (because he's smaller!).

Basically my idea for the sequel is that Blackwater want revenge for
Paine and The Brit
being killed so they sent a team to hunt down and kill The Expendables and Mr. Church.

I can see something like that also.

fyi...when I saw the movie, there was a trailer for a film that had Seagal in it...I was like "???????"

I'm pretty sure the rest of the audience thought the same thing. LOL I don't even remember the movie...all I remember is seeing Seagal and being thrown off guard. :)

My crowd cheered at Seagal , lol . He's in Machete it's based off a faux trailer in Grindhouse .

To elaborate on Sly's story further - apparently Seagal had been ripping into Van Damme for the entire party but eventually Van Damme blew his top and offered Seagal a chance to settle their beef physically out on the lawn to which Seagal chickened out (or 'made his excuses' to quote Sly) and left the party.

Sly also says that by this time Van Damme was apoplectic with rage and wouldnt let it go so he followed Seagal to at least 2 nightclubs where he again offered to engage Seagal in a one on one fight but each time Seagul crapped himself and left.

:word:

Yeah, in the late 90's JCVD was a badass outside of Hollywood filming.

Him and Rourke used to hang out and get jacked on coke allegedly and go to bars and get into bar fights with other random patrons who tried to talk smack to them.

mickey rourkes speech muddled through his face lift made me want to fall asleep...stupid idea whoever put that in there.

Actually it was a really awesome moment in the film that was delievered perfectly (and coherently) and gives the audience a bit of background as to why he isn't on missions anymore.

Yeah what a horrible idea to give a character substance, heart and soul.:whatever:

Ralph Macchio and Hefty Smurf should be in the sequel. Also the Evil twin of David Hasselhoff from Knight Rider should be the villain. 80's icons right there!!

I enjoyed the movie for it's action, and it's stars...but am i the only one who was totally pissed at how bad the Arnold scene was? It was like Gov. Arnie was so busy with his political career, that they only had time to do that scene in one take. His line delivery and timing was aweful. :csad:

I was finally able to see The Expendables tonight and just had the biggest grin on my face from beginning to end. The last 30 minutes in particular I was just smiling and laughing at the spectacle of it all. The tunnel fight with Statham and Jet Li kicking all kinds of a** stabbing and slicing the hell out of people was the highlight of the film for me and made me want to stand up and applaud :funny: Then Terry Crews...holy sh** Terry Crews, I don't need to say anymore lol. That gun certainly gave me Predator/Blain flashbacks. In any other sense this movie is horrible. In my world it's just about perfect. I had trouble with the editing of many fight scenes in this film but even that couldn't stop me from enjoying it all.

For the sequel, other than JCVD, i'd love to se Mr. T, Chuck Norris, and Kurt Russell added in it.

We should make separate feedback threads from pre-release threads.

Oh my god! This was so freaking awesome and entertaining! EVERYONE whooped major butt in this film. The fights were awesome, the bullets ferocious, the EXPLOSIONS! What was the last major film to have so many big explosions. It's been so long since movies like this were made. It was a great time. Please make another Sly!

I know. The film had explosions that didn't bore me to tears in God knows how long. I mean my eyes were wide and my jaw dropped.
