You knew they couldn't help themselves marketing Arnie as a major role... they better not leave us hanging in the sequel. We need at least one action scene.

Did you actually see the movie yourself before calling it ****?

do you know how to read?

I said "the movie LOOKED like ****"

and if the trailers don't do it for me, I skip the movie all together, because, you know, that's how most people do it

I was pumped to go see the A-Team and the more tailors I saw the less I was interrested. But with the Expendables the more I see the more pumped I get.

^same here

screw "The A Team", you know a movie is crap when the trailers look like crap. It's not rocket science

The trailers to the Expandables already blow The A Team out the damn universe

there is just no denying this

Aww, come on, Kurt Russell rocked the hell out of that role. Seriously, can you imagine Arnie standing up in a courtroom and saying "This whole thing f**king sucks" and it being even half as awesome as Russell's delivery?

Kurt Russell was the only good thing about Tango & Cash.

For those of you who think that The Expendables trailers looked better than The A-Team trailers... that's a matter of opinion, and it can be denied, because I liked pretty much everything I saw in the spots for The A-Team. The Expendables looks fun too, but I'm not dying to see it, like I was with the other film.

Now, whether that's because I've always been a huge A-Team fan or because I thought the movie looked great, it's tough to say, but regardless... I was much more pumped for that than I am for this. I mean, really, what is it about The Expendables other than "OMG SO MANY ACTION STARS IN ONE MOVIE OH TEH TESTOSTERONE" that really sets it apart from 10,000 other direct-to-DVD action movies (that starred half of these guys)?

The action sequences looked fairly run-of-the-mill and the "plot" looks like your typical "evil dictator-type oppressed his people and wants to wipe out America" device, along with the usual "we were set up" scenario. There are a couple of good lines and it looks like fun, but some of you guys are acting like this film will be so universally loved by fans and critics alike that it will be like a Pixar film with gunshot wounds, exposed breasts and snapped necks.

That being said, I DO want to see this movie... I just don't understand what some of you saw in these trailers that apparently made you think any similar movie to come out looked like crap.

to your first part, yea, it was probably because you were already a huge A Team fan.

as far as Expendables goes, what I bolded in your quote is EXACTLY IT, that's THE ONLY REASON you should need to see this movie

who cares if the action sequences are run of the mill, if the plot has been done a dozen times before? That's not why you should go see this film, it's for the people in it, and explosions/action. THAT'S IT

the cast is already there, as long as it has a **** ton of explosions, it's a sealed deal. Everything else is obsolete

and that alone should guarentee it's HUGE success (emphasis on HUGE).

Perhaps. But this summer, there have been a few movies that looked like they were going to be huge... and they weren't Keep in mind that the majority of these guys (other than Rourke and Willis, and Willis is probably only in it for about 10 minutes) haven't had a huge hit in a while.

But I do see your point there. I just don't know if it's enough to make this movie a hit, or even hold the audience's interest if these guys aren't used particularly well. I hope that they are though.

One thing... what's up with the name of Statham's character in this movie? Lee Christmas? Where did they come up with that one? Is he related to Lloyd from Dumb & Dumber?

I see all my movies with my closest buddies

I don't get to with my buddies. All of them are starting families, so it makes it harder to go to movies together. :csad:

But this is the one we're all getting together to see.

I bought "Diamond Eyes" off iTunes yesterday, and I can't stop listening to it. I love this song. Gets me pumped for the movie, and the weekend.

awesome footage! hey just to let UK viewers know. Mickey Rourke will be on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on July 16th. Maybe he will talk about The Expendables.

Agreed. That's why i'm seeing it, most action films are run of the mill and this looks to be the same but i'm not a film snob that looks down on dumb fun every now and again. Especially when I grew up watching movies with a lot of the these action stars with my Dad.

Funniest thing today. My friends had gone to see Get Him to the Greek, which I couldn't make, so I'm outside waiting for them, when a dad and his three kids walks out of some kids movie (They had 3D glasses) and the dad stops past The Expendables one sheet and he's like 'Holy crap, Jet Li, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis are making a movie together! We HAVE to go see it', the oldest who was like 6 says, "I don't like those kinds of movies" and the dad says "Well too bad, we're gonna go see it".

:lmao:

WHAT?! Okay, unless that kid was a little girl, that is just depressing to hear. Always thought every little boy loved action macho movies.

That's ****ing great. :hehe:

I'm worried about the way they are marketing this. It's gonna be great but some people aren't going to be happy when they find out Willis and Arnie are only in one scene. Although it would be great if we got to see more of them in a sequel . . Alos from waht I've heard basically everyone survives with the exception of the bad expendable and of course the villians.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but this was incredibly badass.

There IS an F-Bomb in the trailer though. If this is a problem, i'll remove it.

You're supposed to embed it.

Just link the film's IMDb page, it's in the news headlines. That way you can't get in trouble.

I'm excited for all the one-liners. I know it sounds stupid. But given the movie and cast, I'm sure they are going to be what we expect.

Dolphs "Hot Soup", I'm curious to see how that one pans out.:o

This movie will be like the cheaper version of The A-Team.

It will be so bad that it will become laughable.

I almost want to see it to laugh at it.
