Thank God this was rated R. PG-13 the action would have been nowhere as cool.

I was surprised to see some women go to this too. When I walked out I heard two women behind me saying it didn't disapoint. Chicks dig mindless action too right? Just not in the same way guys do I think. My mom loves Predator for God sakes.

Yep!

If The Expendables would have been PG-13, than all the effort Sly put in to get this film done, would have been a waste IMO.

Van Damme turned down a part in this one...who knows if he will get over his self importance enough to do a sequel.

Yes we do! My favorite movies in high school usually starred Arnold Schwarzenegger.

I haven't seen this yet, but I'm planning to catch it next weekend. Can't wait.

I'm kind of nervous about him saying they need to move people out. I understand with too many actors not enough of them will get any background development(hell, none of them really got any in the first)but I just hope they don't get rid of anyone I want to say in. Hopefully they get rid of Couture but I have a feeling one of the ones to go will be Crews.

There was a video of the premiere and Stallone was answering this question and mentioned Van Damme talked to him recently. He said that he is regretting turning down Sly's offer to be in the movie.

That's good....maybe he's learning that he isn't the center of the universe.

The funniest thing at the moment to me is....I read a lot of things by kids on here the last couple of weeks saying that this movie with OLD guys isn't going to do anything at the boxoffice.....yeah, a bunch of OLD guys that could beat the crap out of all of us with thier hands tied behind thier backs.

Hahaha! Yeah, I remember some of those comments. Personally I like Stallone, Willis, Schwarzenegger and even Van Damme(somewhat)more than a number of current action stars. I think Li and Statham are two of the few where I actually own a number of their movies.

Stallone had mentioned something about he thinks Couture could be the next big action guy but I just don't care for him for some reason.

About Van Damme, when Sly was answering fan questions (I think it was over at AICN)he said something about Van Damme when asked why he wasn't in the film. Something like "I like Van Damme a lot...and Van Damme likes himself a lot too". :funny:

Classic! He should have took the role, he hasn't done anything lately. So any word on a sequel? Please say yes.

A think a page or two back someone posted something from Stallone saying he has the basic story outline in his head for a sequel and that he wants to go ahead with it.

I think I just had an orgasm. :O :awesome:

here's an interview taking today from stallone on the expendables sequel.

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - At the cusp of a fifth decade of action-movie mayhem, Sylvester Stallone says his No. 1 opening with "The Expendables" ranks among his top career thrills. The mercenary thriller earned an estimated $35 million during its first three days of release in North America.
SO "THE EXPENDABLES" OPENED BIGGER THAN ANYTHING ELSE YOU HAVE DIRECTED. IT SEEMS YOU'RE STILL SETTING PERSONAL BESTS.
Stallone: I didn't do this all by myself. It was a movie about teamwork, and the team helped make it a success. I always say that if you are a star -- even a faded star -- the light never goes out. You just need to rekindle it.
HAVE YOU WRITTEN A SCRIPT FOR A SEQUEL TO "THE EXPENDABLES"?
Stallone: It's plotted out in my mind's eye. I believe this group has to continue to evolve; it just can't become the same people. So how do you get new people introduced into the group, and how do you have some of the other people leaving? Those are the challenges.

How do you know that it doesn't? Just saying..............

haha....I read a story about how Sly had a party in the late 90's I think....and JCVD and Seagal were both there.

JCVD and Seagal almost got in a street fight apparently....and Seagal was being the bigger *****e out of the two and I read that Sly got pretty pissed at Seagal also.

I don't think Sly and Seagal are on good terms to this day.

Just don't get rid of Crews, Li, Dolph, Stathom.................crap! Don't get rid of anyone. :csad: I love this cast. Just add more players on the team.

Exactly!

Maybe have two separate Expendable Teams doing two different smaller missions, to accomplish the one big mission.

The Expendables is probaly the best movie I've went to see since Rambo. At the end of the movie I felt like standing up and saying hell yeah now that's what I'm talking about. And unless something comes up I'm going to see it again next weekend. I give this movie a 10/10.

It would be too much to follow and you'd have twelve guys killing useless hencemen . couture vs austin was one of the best parts of the movie , i'm hoping for team vs team
