It was about time someone put Terry Crews in this type of movie and in this type of role. Dude is huge, and funny too. That shotgun he uses is incredible!

Also him chucking the warhead at the chopper was hilarious. I could just see him doing his Old Spice schtick. "DOUBLE SUN POWWEEEEERRRRRR!"

Just don't get rid of Crews, Li, Dolph, Stathom.................crap! Don't get rid of anyone. :csad: I love this cast. Just add more players on the team.

I agree.

Here's an idea. They should film 2 sequels back to back (dealing with 2 separate missions) and each movoe would feature a mix of both old and new characters. It could be revealed that the team is much larger then what we think, and different members go on different missions. So characters who are left out of a mission in the 2nd movie will be on another mission in the 3rd movie. It'll be like G.I. JOE with different characters going on different and separate missions. This way, both old and new characters/actors can be rotated/switched in and out for each movie without anyone being permanently kicked out.

Oh man, this movie is ridiculously insane. So much testosterone. It makes me want to: a) buy a chopper. b)get a bunch of tattoos. c) work out more. Haha, such a badass movie.

I think I can say that they pulled it off.
It's a must see.
8/10

Here's a funny tweet from @terrycrews:

" I'm sorry. I shot Scott Pilgrim with my AA-12. All that's left are two smokin chuck taylors."

Just wanted to share that with you guys, with all the TC talk.:woot:

Oh my god! This was so freaking awesome and entertaining! EVERYONE whooped major butt in this film. The fights were awesome, the bullets ferocious, the EXPLOSIONS! What was the last major film to have so many big explosions. It's been so long since movies like this were made. It was a great time. Please make another Sly!

Yeah, hopefully with less shaky cam.

I've noticed he has used that technique for Rocky Balboa, Rambo, and now The Expendables. Evidently he likes the realism aspect. I'm not a big fan of it either, but I've grown to be indifferent to it.

I'm a fan of it when the action it's filming isn't slick but hard and brutal. That's why I think it works for Bourne, and it worked for me here.

I like brutal fight scenes that can actually be seen without straining to keep up with the camera angle changing every half second. The shaky cam and quick cuts have really killed the beauty of the fight scene. It robs the actor of showing off his talent and robs the audience of actually seeing his talent. Can you imagine watching a Bruce Lee movie and seeing his movements chopped up in so many bits and pieces that you could stick any regular Joe in there and not tell the difference? I can understand using shaky cam and quick edits to hide the limited action skills of guys like Matt Damon but there's no need for that kind of crap when you have guys like Jet Li and Jason Statham.

This is an example of excellently staged and brutal fight scenes. You can appreciate Li's speed, his hand speed, etc. The camera is pulled back and they're switching camera angles every 3-4 seconds so you can just see his talent on full display.

I have no idea why directors/editors can't see the beauty in that instead of that hacked up garbage they throw up on the screen.

I agree. I was really hoping to get some better views of Li whipping some major ass, but there was a bit too much shaky cam going on. It didnt stop me from loving this **** outta this movie though :woot:

The fights might be easier to follow on the smaller tv screen. The big screen plus shaky- cam, is just too much to follow.

Couture had no reason what so ever, to be in this. Put in Norris, Tony Jaa, Snipes and Van Dam. I wouldn't mind it if Van Dam was a baddie in the sequel...or anyone of them for that matter. So long as they're in the movie.

Correct let's recap he had big ears, made some statement about being a wrestler in college, then beat a major bad guy. His part was

Was watching Li's Kiss of the Dragon last week and that was one of Jet Li's best action films IMO.

His hand speed is incredible in that film!

I'm hearing rumblings that JCVD may be a part of Arnolds team who are rivals to Slys' Expendable team in the sequel!

The scene of him walking though that hall, blowing guys away all the way down the hall = INSTANT classic scene. :)

What made the scene was when they cut to Steve Austin's perspective, hearing the noise, then seeing guys fly past the entrance of the hall with their insides being blown out. That got HUGE laughs and cheers from my audience.
:awesome:

I want to see Dwayne Johnson in for the sequel for sure. Now that he's out of the kiddy films, this would be a good step in his career. Terry needs a fight scene. I'd also like to see Liam Neeson or Kiefer Sutherland.
