Was watching some solid action JCVD movies that were on cable the last couple days, Double Impact, Hard Target, and TimeCop and he was on a roll there for a awhile, especially when him and Dolph did Universal Soldier.

It would be classic to Sly get him in the Expendables sequel, as a matter of fact, it is a MUST!

Maybe Sly should bring in that big Chinese dude also from Bloodsport and Double Impact, Bolo Yung as the a baddie!
I love "Timecop", I actually think it is his best movie.

Just saw it and i ****in loved it. Statham was beast with the knives. And Crews' scene with the AA-12 is just awesome!!!

I agree .I really cant imagine the Expendables sequel without JCVD :awesome:.
He is a MUST for the sequel,as you perfectly said.

I'd also like to see French action star Cyril Raffaell, who was in the movie B-13 and Jet Li's Kiss of the Dragon as one of the twins, in the sequel....

no gerard butler. He's not convincing and too new age.

We need some of the leaner built stars who are suave, romantic and thin and also do action like Kutcher. We need the types between Shia La Boueff and Kutcher.

I'm not saying Zac Efron, but that same age range to 30s WHO HAVE DONE SOME action films. Efron hasn't so I exclude him

We need to have a pretty boys group in the film so that they can beaten down really badly by the Generals in the next film

haven't seen this yet but was surprised at the RT score 35%

seriously i've heard good things, yet critics seem to be tearing it apart

We got a buff action star oriented film, but we need young action star wannabe's like Ashton Kutcher? He can barely pull off acting male, much less sharing the screen with Stallone and Statham. That's a no on so many levels.

It's not surprising at all. Most critics hate a lot of action films like these, the kind from the '80s and '90s that are filled with Machismo and all about the blood shed and explosions.

When it comes to these type of action films, ones that don't have much character development if at all, and little to no story other than some kind of mission. The people who hate them should stay away since they already know it's going to be crap in their eyes.

I understand some have no choice because it's their job to review films but it's kind of sad when people can't review a film like this on it's own merits and relation to past mindless action films.

Glad to hear The Expendables stayed at #1 and beat out that stupid Vampire spoof.

By the way, when is this film opening overseas?

It's already opened overseas. The total there should be around $40m+.

Thanks to hefty opening grosses registered on the weekend in the U.K. and France, Sylvester Stallone's "The Expendables" appears to have muscled its way to the No. 1 spot on the foreign theatrical circuit.

However, with $21.5 million generated from 6,550 screens in 59 markets, Warner Bros.' "Inception" is still in the running for the top spot as of Sunday. The Leonardo DiCaprio vehicle has claimed first place in the three prior weekends.

With only a smattering of the some 20 offshore markets reporting, "Expendables" -- the Milennium Films /Nu Image Films super-octane action vehicle costarring Stallone, Jason Stratham, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Eric Roberts and Mickey Rourke -- has compiled a weekend gross of at least $14.5 million.

Whereas "Inception" has been fully accounted for (it's international cume stands at $357.7 million), returns for "Expendables" are by no means all in due to a complicated and not-especially-timely reporting process involving myriad regional film distributors.

The action title on the weekend opened No. 1 in the U.K., commanding an estimated $5.7 million from 456 screens. In France, the first-place gross was an estimated $5 million from an unspecified number of locations. In Korea, "Expendables" opened in the No. 5 spot with an estimated $1.5 million elicited from 265 screens.

In Australia, "Expendables" lured an estimated $1.6 million from 187 sites in its second market round. Universal reports that in Spain, the film drew a second-weekend gross of $700,000 from 341 dates for a 10-day market cume of $3.7 million.

Still to be heard from are China and Singapore among the debut markets and Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Taiwan, Denmark, Finland and Romania, among the holdovers.

Yeah, seriously. What on Earth is he trying to turn this into? I'm scared.

He need guys like JCVD and Carl Weathers not Ashton Kutcher. And no Chuck Norris. I can't believe some people stopped realizing Chuck Norris jokes were indeed jokes.

He was in Die Hard 4 also and was a highlight anytime he was on-screen. That guy would be a perfect villain for the sequel and could be set up in a rematch against Jet. Their fight in KOD was nice. The director said he and Jet were moving so fast it was hard to capture it on film.

Wow....have you seen 300?

How can you say Gerard Butler doesn't fit and then actually type the names Ashton Kutcher and Shia La Crap?

I'm sure the majority here would say Butler hands down over those two.

Gerard Butler >>>>>>>> Kutcher and Shia. I mean really? You want to put Kutcher and Shia in a film like the expendables?

echostation can't be serious, its like every post this guy is a sick joke, gotta be the hype joker...right?

The Expendables
Domestic Total as of Aug. 22, 2010: $64,890,000 :yay:

Bruce willis has got to be the main villian in part 2. The way they set him up as the biggest badass ass hole, I'd love to see him hire Arnold's team to go after Sly's.

Went and saw it again yesterday and I still give it a 10/10, I actually liked it even better the second time around.

That's actually a pretty decent hold considering all the new movies that opened up this weekend. Including a 3D horror movie. It will more than likely pass over $80 million domestically. I figure top off at about $85-90 million.

That's not that impressive really if it does end with that. It's budget was about 85 million I believe. I think their hoping for more than just breaking even domestically especially since a sequel will likely call for a higher budget.

Anyone want to see Brian Thompson(The guy who play Night Slasher in Cobra) be one of the villian in sequel ? He and Sly can have a rematch, or maybe Arnold can kill him once more.:awesome:

His death scene in Cobra is also very awesome

Since there's talk about the sequel...what about Kiefer Sutherland?

Finally saw it yesterday, and it definitely lived up to my expectations!!!! I thought that the Jason Statham girlfriend parts didn't really fit in with the rest of the film, but whatever. What an ending too!! Loved it!!!!
