I have to say, I agree with BMM. These look like Batman and Robin posters. Not like the posters and sheets we got for the last 2 movies.

Omg, you have a point! *shiver*

Just to bring this to attention again, the barrel wolverine is sitting on, its from Worthington Labs, the yellow label has the companies logo on it which you would see a lot better on the full size version so the barrel more than likely contains the "cure".

Take that into consideration

While we are on the subject of comparing these posters to batman, there are so many other movie posters out there that actually incorporate colour you know. Also, Jeans photoshopped to hell poster has the exact same colour schemes and look as the Batman Begins posters, you dont see many people moaning about how those looked.

People are over reacting because things are different than they were in the previous two films. Look at the harry potter films, he first two had the same director and they were okay at best, then there was a new director for the third movie, the whole tone and look of this franchise changed and the films from then on just got better IMO. Obviously Brett is going to try and stay as close to the previous two films as possible but at the same time breath new life into the franchise. Just because things look different doesnt mean the film is going to bomb.

Ugh, some people have to much time on their hands. They're just bus stop posters, whoever is nitpicking at them like they'll be on Times Square this month need to calm down. This whole debate on RENT and Batman and Robin? What's wrong with RENT anyways? Even if you found a simalarity between B&R and X3..they're posters. Just because a poster is similar does not mean the movies are going to be as well. I think they look great, photoshopped? Uh yeah, but maybe half of how much the X1 and X2 posters were.

for me wolverine poster says that he is ready to do something he regrets, and storm ready to hurt whoever hurts her and her people

Well said.

Ok Here's a few thoughts of mine on some of the photos.

Wolverine: People are giving out about it because it doesn't show his rage his anger. But just think about the plot, Avi said that wolverine will have to do what he hates most, lead. This picture reflects his concerns and doubts about his own abilities. The blue light convey loniliness, he did love Jean after all.

Storm: In this film storm is going to have to take charge, she doesn't have a choice and accepts it therefore she is the only one staring at the camera and almost accepting her fate. The fog and yellow light gives a sense of turmoil.

Phoenix: This picture shows confidence and power in comparison to the other. The red colour just screams out power.

Angel: Seeing that he is a new character the fact that he has his face turned away shows a little mystery to the film.

And the whole colour issue, as stupid as it may sound people will notice these posters more due to the colours.

Anyone care to explain why posters are mentioning how this image looks like the Batman and Robin ones?

I tried to erase my mind of that abomination, so why is this one being compared to the Batman and Robin posters?

Oh yeah, I love the way Beast looks in his pose. Like he's about to kick some serious ass.

I don't understand that either

The B and R posters were all close up on the face, with dayglow colors

Zthe only B and R poster that has simmilarities to a Summer Block Buster is this one right here

Shivers

I thought the Batman and Robin posters were decent enough.

I personally don't think they're similar, but even if they are, it doesn't mean the film is going the way Batman & Robin did. That's some flawed logic right there.

And he has a reflective pose and has his claws out, maybe considering if he destroys the cure or lets it be distributed for the mutants who want it.

I think these posters are amazing, especially the Jean and Rogue ones.

Maybe these were only made for the purpose of Wondercon and NOTHING else. Maybe we are all just reading way to much into the release. It is known that these are to be given away at Wondercon, so maybe they just wanted to do something different... something we have never seen before. I do not think it is fair to say negative things about the posters until we see the ones that will be used in theatres and such... just give it a fair chance.

The desperate lengths people go to to try and convince others how bad a movie is going to be really makes me laugh. I mean, look at what happened in the superman returns forum, there was about a million plus 1 threads about his uniform that mostly went along the lines of:

"The s is to small, this movies sux"
"The cape doesnt have the s, im not seeing this movie"
"Routh isnt built, he looks skinny in the suit, this movie is gonna be so crap"
"His underwear is too small, supes is teh rubbish!!"

Same things happening here. Stop NITPICKING. The majority of people going to see these films arent comic book fans, they dont give two ****s about how the characters look different from their comic book counterparts, they dont care if hugh is too tall, rouths hair isnt right, the Thing doesnt have his brow, they just want to watch an entertaining movie and just by looking at the trailer we can see this films is going to be packed with action and emotion.

These posters grab attention and thats all that matters because people are only going to be able to catch a glimpse of them. As long as they look at them and think "wow theres a new X Men movie" then the posters, which are a small part of marketing, have done their job.

phew

when is wondercon??? Fox is suppose to release stuff for upcoming 20th century fox movies so heres hoping x3 gets a new trailer then!

btw, posted this in the articles thread but no one ever goes in there for some reason so..

11am-12:30 today, 20th century fox have a slot at wondercon where they will be giving previews of their biggest movies of this year so if anything new is released i would expect it to be online withing the next few hours maybe? Im not sure what time it is over there at the moment

And that's the great thing. People will catch a glimpse of them. For people who have seen the X-Men movies, they will know what is going on with some of the posters (if there not fans of the comic books) but Angel, Beast and possibly Phoenix will add intrigue. For those that know nothing about the X-Men the posters will generate curiosity. These posters will not be analyzed and studied by the general public. A glance, a thought, curiosity is peaked, a memory becomes embedded in your mind and voila X-3 opens with box office success with a higher attendance then X-2.

Spy! :D

I was too busy admiring the Phoenix poster that I forgot to say how pretty Rogue looks. I think Rogue´s and Jean´s posters are the best.

Im pretty sure we will get something on it later, whether it will be new or not is the real question
