Because he only comes into it at the end of the movie and they want to save his appearance up I'm guessing (for maximum fangasims). Sandman will most likely be the main villian of this movie and the Venom story will carry over into future film(s). I'm sure they will allude to him some how in the teaser though.

They should at least show the cgi version of Sandman since they had been working on him since last year & possibly some Goblin footage if he is in it.

you know I think us the fans would have gotten more satisfaction out of this had Dunst not told us Venom was in the movie. people wouldnt' go in there with pre conceptions about Topher playing him, and we would all think oh Eddie's just a supporting character he's not gonna be a villain, only to be surprised to death at Venom. It makes sense too, because if Venom isn't in the movie till the end and we see him in the preview than a lot of people will be sitting there thinking, hurry up and bring Venom.
