the 89th Annual Academy Awards - Part 1

And nobody is gonna be pissed at Beatty for that due to his tenure. The La La Land folks can only be like...."lol, good one, Warren."

That's going to appear on one of the those 'Greatest Moments in Tv History' type of shows. All we need now is someone to do a 'Hello Darkness My old Friend' meme.
I want a behind-the-scenes look at the envelope guy when he realizes he's still holding the Best Picture envelope. Oh gawd, the hilarity... :funny:

"So glad that overrated elitist film LaLaLand didn't win. Take the whole family to see Moonlight."

Come om, this is Trump, not nearly offensive enough, he'd throw a sterotype in there somewhere.

He saved face in the best way available.

"So glad that overrated elitist film LaLaLand didn't win. Take the whole family to see Moonlight."

I'm glad Moonlight won, but how is La La Land elitist? It was a mainstream success too, not contained to "intelectuals".

Man, if this had happened to Leo last year, the universe would have imploded.

"So glad that overrated elitist film LaLaLand didn't win. Take the whole family to see Moonlight."

Steve Bannon: "But Moonlight has Black people! You know how Sessions and I feel about them!"

(Bannon goose steps his way out of the oval office while doing a salute).

Trump is going to thank himself for Moonlight winning. His work to helping African Americans is well underway.

Very gracious response from the La La Land people...

La La Land is the movie that caught fire because award shows told people to go see it. So it is kind of in an odd place.

Way to guess Best Picture when you know you have the wrong envelope. *******.

I can't believe that happened. I'm dead.

I feel for Warren in this situation here. It must have been confusing for him when he was given a WTF thing to read out. What was he supposed to do? I doubt they prepared him for that possibility.

Lol, people online were like, Katherine Johnson would've presented it better than both of them.

"Sorry! Sorry! Everyone stop! The actual winner is Bryan Cranston. And Matt Damon. And Michael Fassbender and Eddie Redmayne. A four way tie! Crazy huh, Leo?"

Wasn't it already making bank before the awards season though?
It caught fire during the award season "preview". When they start telling you what is going to be nominated before anything is nominated. It was a fire "contender", and then blew up in Jan.

He was obviously put in a tough spot, but he could've simply said "I've got the wrong envelope". A far better alternative than what we got.

On another note, I never understand when Best Picture and Best Director are not the same. I get it, different categories. It still doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

La La Land won Best director, actress, music, song and cinematography. But not Best Picture?

Yup. I don't get how some are still blaming him. This is not a Steve Harvey situation-- somebody backstage gave him the wrong card.
