Here's another stat... Since 2011 when I started really focusing on making Top 10s, I only had 4 misses (almost 3) when a movie won Best Picture but it didn't make it in my top 10. And I have Anora in my top 10 but not The Brutalist and certainly not Emilia Pérez.

2023 - Oppenheimer
2022 - Everything Everywhere All At Once
2021 - Coda
2020 - Nomadland
2019 - Parasite
2018 - Green Book
2017 - The Shape of Water
2016 - Moonlight (I had La La Land)
2015 - Spotlight

2014 - Birdman
2013 - 12 Years A Slave
2012 - Argo
2011 - The Artist

Looks like Britbox is not streaming the show live for us in the US, it'll be up 2 hours after everyone knows who wins.

I got a VPN so I think I can watch it live... but this sucks.

I totally get it now @Drizzle , I want Mikey Madison to win the Oscar too.

I really, really loved Anora.

Sean Baker put a very interesting twist on the Cinderella story. I think Ani was one of the most likable characters I ever seen on screen recently. I know chicks like her, I know trustfund babies like Vanya, it just hit all the right boxes for me.

The only gripe I have is that Baker could've had more people of color in the background. I know Coney Island like the back of my hand, yes it is majorly Russian and I get that's what he was going for, but there are still loads more POC in that same section. Especially that candy shop Vanya's friends worked at, I go to that shop all the time and it's ran by Puerto Ricans.

But that aside, great story. I'm rooting for both Mikey and Demi now at the Oscars.

So now that you've seen it, what's your take on my hot take that Demi's performance in The Substance is definitely Oscar worthy but I think Mikey Madison deserves it more for this.

Drizzy that's hard, because I really believe they both brought it equally but in different ways. Mikey Madison brought it with words and Demi emoted her ass off and told a story with just her looks. But as long as one of them goes home with the gold, I'll be happy.

What I want to know is why my guy Toros didn't get ANY shine this awards season:

Karren Karagulian was great in this.
