I think it matters to some people because if they think that the producers are responsible for everything that was wrong with the Raimi series, it doesn't make it any better that the cast, director and script writers are new, they are still afraid for the sequels because the same producers are on board

Nice reasoning. Thanks for answering my genuine question with a fair and thoughtful answer.

Being neutral to this, would you mind me giving some feedback?

The articles either side of this discussion are using are not helping. They're unclear to the point that the discussion has moved on from what you've kindly just explained to me. Now it's turned into second guessing what the articles are saying. It's been going on for a while and hasn't got anywhere. You could all go on with this for the rest of the month and still be at square one by the end.

But that's my whole point. I'm not trying to prove that Raimi came up with the Vulturess. I was pointing out that the links chaseter provided don't work to his advantage at all, or to anyone's advantage with the opposite view for that matter

My view is that Raimi might have been the one that was against the Vulturess, but that it also could've been the other way around just the same. There's no proof thus we can't know so it's useless to point fingers

Nice, we're on the same page.

People will essentially believe what they want to believe. Alot of people give Sony flack for forcing venom a pretty simple concept villain that raimi just "didn't understand" apparently (which i just call hog wash, he just didn't like the character and wasn't familiar with him)

The way i look at it is pretty simple, unless you're a famous director given free range on a project you are hired by a studio to give your vision of a film under the guidelines the studio gives you. Some movies have far more leeway than others.... And if they throw you a curve ball you don't like... Its your job to research and turn out the best film you possibly can presenting those ideas regardless of if you came up with them or not .

Studios can be incredibly stupid at times and act like children.... But so can directors

Exactly!!

When the producers are investing 250M in the movie, they have the right to give their choice for the Villian
As a director, its your job to do research and understand the character rather than give an excuse that he didnt understand him

Imagine if a director comes along to direct a Batman movie and says that he doesnt understand the Joker so he wont be using him!!

I have to say that Sony gave a lot of power to Marc Webb (a guy whose only movie before TASM was a comedy-romance film), and even if they changed some things from the final cut, the film was pretty much what Webb wanted, that's a fact. I'm also surprised that they let him use The Lizard when Raimi has been asking for it since SM2 and he wasn't allowed to use it even at SM4.

From the behind the scenes videos I got the feeling that they had planned the Lizard to be the villain since they wrote the reboot

Wrong! Sony wanted to use the Lizard since SM2 (allegedly Black Cat too) but Raimi never did. Raimi was deadset on using The Vulture, but by time SM4 rolled around, Sony (like the fans) was tired of waiting. And thus, that's where the disputes over SM4's script, budget, and overall creative control came from and why Raimi ultimately left.

Be careful, man. You might get "certain" people coming in here and defending Raimi to the ground. Sick of hearing his name, especially after that long debate about Vulturess:whatever:

say his name 3 times backwards, and he will go away!

Someone made a video showing how Foxx could sound as Electro. It sounds pretty cool.

2 things:
a) does anyone else feel that what´s happening now to MoS is very similar to TASM? (mixed reviews , people loving it and some mixed)
b)Do you think the writters can make justice for TASM 2? i mwa n some people tell me they are good and some bad...idk

^ Will the writers do it justice? No telling now. That, we must wait and see.

Yeah there's no way of telling. They could write another bad script in the future, a great script...who knows?

absolutely and we should know something when comic con rides in and also i hope people dot put much thought into the rumors that come along before then
