MJ being recast due to time restraints makes perfect sense.

Shailene just barely had time to film her scenes for ASM2.

With Divergent, among other things, looking to be occupying her schedule for the next couple years, its very possible she might have to be replaced.

But guys what would you choose between being 'lead actor' in a movie that could flop and 'love interest' in "un-floppable" movie? :P

Only if she didn't sign a similar contract with Sony.

Odds are that she didn't or that its now void due to her not appearing in ASM2.

Interviewer: Are you looking forward to everyone seeing you as Black Cat, finally?

Jones: Um, well, yeah, possibly. Yeah, I kind of… it’s, um, yeah, if that happens it would be wonderful, yeah.

true if webb would have never announced it and waited till final product no one would have noticed exept for a few because everyone would be drooling over electro and rhinos on screen glory and if mj's few minutes in the film were kept in the final cut people would complain that she had a lack of scenes and that she might as well have had no scenes at all

you can not twist this news into something positive. this is a big change and this means that they are doing big changes with the movie.

I think its safe to assume those were the only scenes that she filmed in those couple of weeks. With a minor role like her's, why would she be filming anything else that would require a studio or green screen?

Yea, it would be so easy for an non-fan to think maybe my character becomes a superhero, even if she's not playing Felicia Hardy. Also not a strange development at all considering how many "masks" start off as regular supporting characters.

she is playing felicia hardy in this 1 and will make an appearance as black cat later on... simple as that she didnt give away her being black cat she said it could could possibly happen which means that she is just felicia right now and she doent know where the studio is going to go with her character

How in the world do you know that? It has been confirmed time and time again that her role is MINOR. Yes, she did have a purpose in the movie, and that purpose was to introduce the character for future films. That's it.

I highly doubt she had any purpose in the main plot for TASM2.

MJ's stuff looked more like an introduction, her chat with peter on the bike, her talk with gwen and maybe a scene with her shocked by a rampaging rhino or car chase

it was more like here is this character we want you to know who she is and we want to show peter and gwen know who she right lets move on sorta thing
