Oh, mayo is someone that just hates my attitude towards films he likes. And trying to compare me to a brat is his way of trying to sound "awesome".

I dont really care that MJ is a waitress again, but for people to say there would have been no other jobs for her anywhere else...in NYC other than prostitute or stripper, just come off as apologists for anything we question regarding MJ apparently.

But, this MJ isn't a wanna be/struggling actress. She's still a high school student living at home with her father, so it isn't a cliche. See, you can't even think of another job for a teenage girl like MJ, it seems like you're just poking at something just to poke at it.

Why do I need to think of a different job for her?

Fine, she can work as a cashier and it hurts Peter every time he goes to see her at work :oldrazz:

Because you're the one who has a problem with it, so why not? And a cashier? Really? How does that at all reflect the character of MJ, or plays to her strengths? Cashiers don't recieve tips. It's as insignificant of a complaint as complaining if the Peter in this movie drove a 2005 Toyota Corola and the Peter in Raimi's drove a 1999 Toyota Camry, then saying "Why is Peter driving a Toyota again? Why couldn't Webb have had him drive a Kia or Nissan?" just because this is a reboot doesn't mean every single little thing has to be completely different. If Webb's Peter ever wears a sweater similar to Raimi's Peter, are you gonna complain about that as well? "Oh no,
Peter is buying a cheeseburger! The Peter in Raimi's movies offered to buy a cheeseburger for MJ, why didn't Webb make it a hotdog?" or better yet "Why is Webb's Peter drinking Dr. Pepper like Raimi's? Why couldn't Webb have had him drinking Coke?" anyone who isn't looking for something to complain won't complain about this.

Damn dude, you took a joke seriously....I'm sorry for not adding an emoticon to emphasize it....

But seriously, there HAS to be something out there besides being a waitress which we've seen before.

I didn't say there weren't any other jobs, just not any other jobs for a teenage (below 18) MJ that would reflect her character and allow her to play to her strengths (looks and charm) like being a waitress at a hip/modern coffee type shop. Or should I say sandwich shop.

FIY, it's not a hip/modern coffee shop. It's a sandwich shop.

Clearly MJ's job is just as important a story element as Peter's legwear. It defines her, don't cha know.

It's like you think there is a clear endless list of job options or something. What job can a below 18 MJ have that allows her to use her charm and looks, while still making the job somewhat relatable to people so that it doesn't fly right over their head or make them think "Why the hell would she work there?"?

book store, Record Store, clothing store (especially in the village)

Sandwich shops are hip. Probably the second hippest joint you can work at.

Do you think you add anything to the topic by mocking?

It's like that? Really? Lol, all my point is was something different. I don't think her being a waitress again is a good idea.

And what's the idea of you promoting her using her charms and looks? What if she doesn't even use her charm as a waitress? What if she's a *****? I know plenty of *****y and hot waitresses.

Those all fall into a "cashier" type thing though. MJ is suppose to be more social and flirtacious, to gain tips and what not. It's kind of hard to do that as a cashier.

You're only speculating how MJ will be in this film, lol.

you can be helpful and charming at any of those places, also how do you know that is WHY they gave her that job and or THAT is how they are portraying her, you are doing alot of assuming I think.

Lol you wanna talk about mocking.
Anyway, she doesn't need to flirt or flash her eyelashes, it's a natural extension of a character something you can possibly see her doing. You think teen MJ, Ultimate MJ, and you think of her having a waitress type job. Mingling with people, things like that. Trying to make tips, which is important since teens already don't make much money, which makes the idea of
MJ being a waitress a smart one.

I mock because....I bring up MJ being a waitress? Lol.

You see that. I think of a MJ who could be a modeling intern, but since that's out of the question since Gwen was an intern, I could see MJ doing something that she actually enjoys, maybe something with music and that is something she could have a connection with with Peter since he and Gwen connected by their intelligence.

Yeah I am assuming as to why MJ would be a waitress. If she doesn't wind up being any of those things, then there's still a clear reason why she would want to be, why any teenager would want to be. Tips. Teens outside of weekends and holidays can't work full hours, so smartest decision a teen can make in the job department is to work as a waiter or waiteress. Add onto that perhaps her and her father have finicial difficulties considering if you take into account where they live.

It adds at least as much as your endless mewling about whatever the latest production decision is that's got your underoos tied in knots.

Lol, so I shouldn't mention anything that bugs me about this film.

Well, if it also stops you from posting as well...it'll be worth it

"Didnt you hear, sandwich shops are hip." obvious sarcasm, also known as mocking. There are plenty of other ways for MJ and Peter to connect, this is likely to be a one scene thing, involving someone throwing cars and stuff in the road, then a shot of MJ walking out of the shop in her uniform watching the carnage unfold. And
even if there are parts showing her working so what? We didn't even see Raimi's MJ actually work, just walk out of the diner and that's it. Seriously, why does it even matter? It'll either be insignificant or more fleshed out.
