not saying is that funny but...

Now I thought that was funny, as was Spidey's follow up line "Tighty whities. I should have known".

I mean, it was funny in USM, a little, but I was also like, 13 when I read that.

Never said that. But it is in fact a reference to the comic book, and I do happen to find it funny. To each their own.

Spider-Man also fought a robot in the comic, so I'm hoping we get that in Mediocre Man 3.

Nah, I think troll suits you well.

Super candid pic of me

exactly we don´t know if Peter says in the movie, "Rhino boxers? seriously man i imagined that the russian mafia had better taste"

It's a comic book. Some things I feel work, some don't. It was okay, but not worth it.

Comic book or movie, Spidey isn't aware of the fact that he is fictional and would act the same regardless. Character accuracy is what matters the most when bringing a character to life.

Anyone think there's a chance this new thing we're getting will drop at midnight, or most likely somewhere around 8am or somethin? I have to get up early and not sure if it's worth staying up for the next hour potentially waiting

He isn't Rhino yet, so that wouldn't be it. "Tighty whities" would be a good follow up IMO.

btw, I can't believe some people think the Aleksei pantsing is supposed to be LOL funny.. I'd have to believe Webb clearly isn't trying/expecting to bust anyones sides with that

It's not a 'joke' or punchline, it's Spidey being Spidey

I would avoid citing "because it happened in the comics"

norman osborn impregnated gwen in the comics
spider-man had a spider-mobile at one point

better to argue the merits of pantsing rhino in terms of humour, which is subjective, and tone, which we can't really gauge.

if spider-man is constantly one-upping aleksei in the chase scene, and frustrating him more and more, then topping that all off with a pantsing could definitely work. a proverbial cherry on the cake that is aleksei's humiliation.

i think it will also depend on how much banter they have beforehand. it looks like there is at least some. it less weird to pants someone you have somewhat of a relationship with, than a complete stranger.

if there is a decent back and forth between spider-man and aleksei and/or a badgering element from the former in general, then the pantsing can work and not feel forced or out of place.

This threads really on track right now :whatever:

see, this debate has already kind of deteriorated. ideally, we would be arguing free from emotion.

i guess that's pretty much impossible though, seeing as we are passionate spidey fans.

The former was hated by comic fans when it was done. Still is. Very controversial. The Spider-Mobile is hardly a thing that is hugely associated with Spider-Man like the Batmobile is with Batman.

Harry being the Goblin before Norman is a huge bastardization of one of the most well loved popular and iconic villains in the Spider-Man mythology. As is Harry killing Gwen. It's like the definitive Spider-Man story that cemented Norman's status as a villain. Harry was never that sadistic that he would kill Gwen.
