The hell is up with Andrew's accent in that clip of Harry and Peter talking? I have no idea as to why he just starts to have a southern twang to his voice out of seemingly nowhere. I hope it's some inside joke within the movie itself because that, that was pretty bad. It's actually kind of mind-boggling.

I loved their work with the script in the Abrams Star Trek films. So I was pretty confident they would deliver something good. :)

I wasn't really fond of Star Trek 2 but overall they do produce some solid scripts. They're hit and miss imo.

He sounds like one of my friends. From New York. It's not a problem to me. Actually, I love it.

One of my college buddies was from NYC (don't remember which part, though). And he talked SO properly... until he got pissed off at something. He sounded like a stereotype. I gave him **** for it a lot. lol But he'd call me a redneck and it was all good. :) He'd say he would let the "New Yorker" in him come out when he got mad. Like it was something he actively tried to avoid. lol

Also, Dubstep. Why? It's like they're just trying to add as many questionable aspects to this movie as possible. I hope it turns out well, I really do, but I can definitely see where criticism can be aimed and as to why some people are on the fence with it. I really hope all of this "newfound confidence" talk isn't a load of PR babble.

I'm not bashing people that talk like that by any means.

But for Peter? It just doesn't remind me of him. He is the exact opposite of what Peter has always been for me. He just seems too...cool. Like aside from him being skinny I can't see much reason people would even bully him.

Yeah. I get that. I think it's a great addition, though. And he was bullied basically because he was a socially awkward genius with some boldness, but maybe not the most confidence. His "cool" lines and such were mostly as Spider-Man, as I remember, which is perfectly fine to me.

I'm really excited to hear the soundtrack for this. With the talent they have working on it I'm sure it well sound unlike any other soundtrack out there.

Dubstep can be really effective if executed correctly. Did anyone play Far Cry 3 ? If you did you will get what I am talking about !

I mean, he's a New Yorker. I don't know many New Yorkers whose accents don't make it obvious that they are, in fact, New Yorkers.

But he sounds borderline "country boy" in that clip. Its incredibly jarring, like if you took that clip out of the context of Spider-Man you'd think he was playing a completely different character. Then as the clip progresses his voice recedes back to normal. It's bizarre.

Why do people dislike dubstep?

Because it's electronica for people who don't really listen to electronic music. It's the bubble gum, mainstream pop of electronic music, like how Skillrex is the Katy Perry of electronic music. Is this really gonna turn into a debate of questionable elements of the movie being thrown up in the air and asking "Why is this looked at as bad? Maybe it's actually not bad." in order to stifle criticisims aimed towards this movie.

Haha, nice. A lot of my NY friends and acquaintances try to tone down their accents when they get down here.

He wasn't very confident and he preferred to stay away from the crowd. Whenever, kids see someone different, they attack him. That's what kids do. Also, i don't think that he was exactly bullied. In the original comics he was teased and ignored. Real bulling came in the later comics with Bendis and Bagley, mainly because they made the characters younger. That's my theory.

But in instances like that it was used in an ironic way, since Far Cry 3 in general was suppose to be, keyword "suppose", a deconstruction of the dude bro first person shooter. In this instance with TASM2 it's being used straight faced.

I have to watch it again, because I honestly didn't hear that the first two times. Peter's voice just sounded strangely high to me, so I could've been just distracted by that.

EDIT: Ah, I hear it now. I think it's mainly in the word "briefcase" there. It came out weird, kinda made the whole sentence sound weird.

@Joe
Yeah I get what you are saying but I feel that dubstep or rock are more in line with Spider-Man's youth and energy. Operatic themes are great but I feel because there is a heavy Sci-Fi element to this film dubstep works really well. I think it is quite a bold move to do something like this for a superhero movie.

Despite the fun, innocent acronym, DUMBO, Brooklyn was the scene of an old-fashioned gun battle today when factions of the Russian mob and The Big Man’s gang escalated their ongoing war for control of the city’s organized crime, culminating in a dramatic shootout along Jay Street that left three dead and the police scrambling for answers.
Despite the tragic outcome, police found a silver lining as security camera footage captured the first visual confirmation of the reputed Big Man leaving the scene with his crew (the Enforcers). Police spokesman, Major Crimes Unit Sergeant Stan Carter, said the image would not be revealed to the general public until the department’s analysis of the footage was completed.
Sources indicate that the video footage confirmed the involvement of the Big Man’s Enforcers, including Fancy Dan Brito, Jackson Montana Brice and Raymond “The Ox” Bloch, all of whom were out on bail from previous criminal charges. The police identified the victims as Anatoly Melikov, Gennady Panarin, and Evgeny Teryoshin, all reputed members of Alexsei Sytsevich’s Brighton Breach crew.

Well... Flash did throw a basketball at his head. And beat him up when he tried to stand up for that other kid. These days it doesn't really matter so much what you look like that makes you a target. It's how you act. When I was super shy I got picked on ALL THE TIME. Because I was quiet. I didn't want to talk to anyone. And when I did try to I was still picked on because "Oh, the quiet kid is talking now. HAHAHA." But when I started building my confidence it stopped. I got girlfriends. I went to parties. It was a lot better.

In case you haven't seen the "Price of being a hero" i'm putting this in a spoiler tag.

Peter catches a cold at some point in the movie, so that's why his voice probably sounds like this in the new clip.

No problem with it being used "straight faced." As a musician, I never close my mind to different genres. They all have potential.

Good read

Glad to hear that the script is as good as the cast says. It's all matter of execution now.
