You know, for a film that hasn't been released, it's fun to make statements we don't know. Before Man of Steel came out, I proclaimed it the best CBM of all time. Look how that turned out...

That's a tough one to argue.. But ok, I'll give it a shot anyway:cwink:

Nr.1
I too thought Man of Steel looked all too good to be true (as it turned out - it was). I'd never been so let down over a movie before (well, Spider-Man 3 came close). But my main concern with MOS (before seeing it) was the fact that Snyder was directing. I hated that choice right from the get-go and I was very nervous about it. I thought, maybe he'd do great this time around. Nut no. He did worse than ever, given the great source material he had on his hands. That being said. I feel much more comforted (now) in ways I never ever did with MOS last year. Why? Because Snyder isn't directing this thing - Marc Webb is. Unlike Snyder, Webb is a good storyteller. And he's already proven with TASM1 that he truly cares for characters. And it's already felt that he's aiming even higher in that area for the sequel. So yes, I feel a lot more at ease in believing that this film will succeed where MOS failed, miserably.

Nr.2
My statement wasn't about this movie guaranteed to be "all that". Never would I claim this before seeing it in its entirely (I've learned my lessons the hard way). No, my statement was about Franco and Maguire never coming close to have had that same genuine, deep and layered feel to their friendship, like what is strongly felt & seen in this tiny clip between Garfield and Dehaan. I basing this on the fact of had seen 3 Raimi movies, watching those two same characters interact, and never truly bought in to it. Then, I see this little tiny clip, and I instantly connected and felt their friendship and their bond, so strongly. It felt real (I no longer need to have seen the entire movie to claim this much. It's already been proved). Between Maguire and Franco it always felt pretty superficial. But here it comes on so very strong, judging from that little clip. And that's saying something.

He was given a screenplay by David Goyer; the writer behind such hits like Blade 3, Ghost Rider 2, & Looper. I think Snyder was good, script sucked.

Now for 2, we've seen a clip and photos of Peter and Harry. That's all. They are actually, in a way, doing Harry and Peter worse. Raimi built up there friendship and bond and in the third we saw them fight (let's be honest, that wasn't the problem). In this, we are going to them straight fighting.

Well, Levitikuz, since you're obviously an Emma fan, here are some cute ones with MTV's Josh Horowitz today :)

I like Emma. Despite me hating TASM, she was a positive.

Garfield you lucky British son of a *****.

Son of a *****... why did I click. That's SUPER spoilery.

Also, in before the thread explodes.

A bit of hyperbole there. And by a bit I mean a lot. Raimi made 3 films' worth of Harry/Peter interaction, this is a one-minute-long clip. Come on now, wait to see the film at least.

I don't need to see the whole movie to judge what I've already seen from within the clip in question. I'm not talking about the rest of the film here.

Name a scene that felt as real/genuine between Pete/Harry from the Raimi films, that does better than what is seen between Dehaan and Garfield here? Is it the scene in Spidey 3, where Harry goes goofy and him and Peter talks about chicks and fumbles around with a B-ball in the mantion? Or maybe it's the vomiting cliche ending, where Harry dies telling Peter that he's his best friend after been trying to kill Peters ass and truly messed up the relationship between him & MJ? Did that ever feel real? Perhaps it's the scene from Spidey-1, where Harry goes "thank God for you Peter. You're the only family I've got", and then hugging him? I gotta tell ya, that felt so corny and right out of a cheap made for tv soap-opera flick, to me... Seriously, the closest where I ever felt some connection was actually when Harry was drunk in SM2 and slaps Peter twice over the face. And that was more like me feeling sorry for Peter. Yet, even that scene don't feel as real/genuine to me, as the stuff seen in the clip between Dehaan and Garfield.

Holy cow where is that pic from and how did they get it?

I'll try in another way. It just really feels like the relationship between Harry and Peter in TASM2 from the little that's been seen, is so much more real and grounded. In the Raimi films it felt kinda superficial, and that's over three whole pictures...

But of course, I'll settle for difference in opinion :-) I can forget that sometimes.

Man of Steel.

Yes. That movie, as a whole was a mess... But the clip we're talking about, is a clip I've already seen :-) And that clip works. So it'll work as well within the film. Why shouldn't it.

Do you consider yourself more of a movie person or television person? The Avengers was the only movie i was tempted to see twice at the theater, and that was because the audience experience was amazing.

I'm both. I watch tv shows and movies everyday.:woot:

PS. NOTHING in the Raimi franchise comes close to being as deep, genuine or layered as what little is seen between Dehann and Garfield here. Sorry to say, but Franco and Maguire never had any chemistry like this.

You based that off just one clip?

If high 70s were near low to mid 90s, I would have got A's on all my test and classes in High School and currently in college.

Also, Spider-Man 2 is better than the Avengers. There I ****ing said it.

I prefer SM2 over the Avengers as well.
