im hoping webb really enjoys making these films so he might make another 3, either that or stays on as producer for another 3

and hopefully andrew is willing to keep playing the role, perhaps they could keep these films fresh if they did add spidey to the MCU

god...can you imagine a spiderman series reaching 12 movies? thatd be insane haha

Only if they started recasting instead of rebooting. Like James Bond it with a few high school films, then keep continuity but recast and run him through college, then recast after he graduates, etc.

Which is unlikely as hell, but still a better bet than hoping Garfield and Webb do nothing but Spider-Man movies for 20+ years lol.

I honestly honestly think we'll get three tops. :[
I wouldn't want a lot of movies for THIS series. I'd probably want only four.

we can't keep rebooting spidey though without a massive 10 year break at some point though.

hopefully this franchise merges with the MCU and we can stick with the origin and continuity and never have to retell it

I was just thinking the more ore less the same thing when someone said "imagine it going for 12 movies" or something like that. I think with the amount of time it takes to make a few movies you would just be forced to simply recast at some point anyway.

So if they ever did go the route of making a continuous series then I personally would say keep it a bit like James Bond where the continuity is a bit loose. Otherwise it would be a bit odd having multiple actors coming on board and all trying to give the same interpretation of a character.

Though I don't think we'll realistically see these films carry far beyond a third (I'm guessing).

I think the glaring difference between Bond and Spider-Man is that the continuity is pretty loose on bond because the whole movie series is basically about his mission ... his job. Not his personal or social life. Where with spider-man, it's both.

So you really do have to keep continuity. You just should try not to drawl attention to the recasting of characters.

I think a more loose continuity could help so the actors could be free to apply their acting style to a character rather than be forced to just reiterate what the last actor did.

Plus it might be better than having film ten be restricted by what film one established. It would be easier to modernise the film with a sequel rather than being forced to reboot a series that's went on for around ten films.

Not to mention that a loose continuity series wouldn't go out of its way to say 'these events never happened' unless it was necessary for one of the later sequels (in case they wanted to do a Casino Royale scenario).

super secret second spidy sequel set shot...

I don't think we got one for TASM, so i doubt we will get one for this. It would be cool if we did. I still think "Hero" from the original Spider-Man soundtrack was great.

Yea, I don't think we'll get one either, but the Iron Man 3 soundtrack listing was just released and it's all indie/alternative rock bands which I feel would be more fitting for Garfield's Peter rather than RDJ's Tony. But then again, maybe the change in genre is supposed to symbolize the change in tone from the previous films + the fact that Tony is becoming less conceited and self-absorbed.

Although, I love most of the bands that they have doing the songs in the soundtrack (Imagine Dragons, Passion Pit, Neon Trees, Walk the Moon, and AWOLNATION are all bands that I listen to, and I'm now getting into Rogue Wave, Capital Cities, Redlight King and 3OH!3).

I can see it too. Novak is not a bad actor at all.

As stated on another thread, I'm gonna say BJ Novak is playing a young Richard Parker. The coloration of the environment is warm and beige, which matches this pic.

Supposedly an earlier version of Oscorp, compared to the more recent photos we've seen in which Oscorp's environment is much more cold.

I'm not talking about acting skills. I've no idea who he is. I just don't picture him as Otto.

Did you picture the casting choices of Electro, Rhino, and Norman as their characters before they were announced?

Webb has not exactly been casting "predictable" or obvious actors for these roles.

I smell The Daily Bugle connection.Maybe, he is this guy.

Edit:I can definately see the similarities.Compare the pics and everything except hair and v-neck is same.

Marc mentions Oscorp in that tweet and not the Bugle, so I doubt it.

Octavius was chief scientist at Oscorp in USM. So maybe it is him. Maybe not.

Either way I'd love to see the tentacled one make it into this franchise.

Yes, I'm psychic that way. :oldrazz:

I'm fine with Foxx and Giamatti, but that doesn't mean I don't have a right to say "that's not what I picture for such and such". I might not have pictured either actor for those roles either, but I can still be fine with them at the same time.

This guy however is an unknown to me and doesn't really say 'Doc Ock' to me, so until I see otherwise (if it were to turn out to be Ock) I'm allowed to make that observation.

I'm not questioning your right to say what you think. I'm saying none of the casting so far has been obvious or in line with how the villains look in the comics.

None of them say Rhino or Norman or Max Dillon physically.
