Today's pic is kind of boring haha. But there seems to be a spider in the bg and that's kind of interesting. Haha. Oh well. Gives Mondays one reason to be excited for..

It's not that complicated. Something that looks friendly will generally be seen as more heroic than something that looks scary. It's really that simple.

I never found the TASM suit to look scary though. Not sure why so many on these boards seem to think that. Agree to disagree.

Peter probably realized that he will get caught by the cops at some point (which he actually does), Gwen's dad is a cop. He probably didn't want her to find out that he is Spider-man from her dad when the police catch him. Plus, Peter didn't want to keep secrets. Also, how could you say that some random fan put more thought into the story than the writers when they haven't even gotten to tell the full story?

The identity reveal on the first date was a major facepalm for me. Had he revealed it after even a *few* dates or knowing her a little while longer that would have made much more sense/had more impact.

I'm just saying- that from the sloppy script that TASM had, it sounds like you've put a bit more thought into the relationship and potential ramifications/consequences than the writers did.

Do I see spider legs in the bottom right corner??

That's what I see. Probably something in the bg in the shot of Oscorp...or since that guy is VFX, just the anatomy of a certain spider for reference?

The Oscorp logo is different from the one in current set pics. Must be a flashback explaining the spider *groan*

Oh man I didn't think of that lol. You guys have such good guesses, makes me feel like I'm on the wrong "thought train" haha.
That's a great guess though. I'd put money on it.

Sorry, yes. We must know exactly why the special oscorp spider was created and why it affected Peter like it did blah blah blah

Or just some brief history about the spider...won't hurt haha sounds cool to me. But whatevs.

thats dumb, i'm sure the original suit will be damaged in some way =)

Hey, you asked me...I'm just giving you what I think. What else would explain the lack of leg stripes and shoes? Gwen didn't like them :cwink:

I still like the idea that she creates the design out of an attempt to help his public image.

Well the new suit does look less "insect-like" compared to the first suit, so maybe it has something to do with the public image, who knows. The smaller yellow eyes screamed insect to me, the bigger white eyes do not.

But that's the point. Batman doesn't dress up to look like a hero. His costume is designed to scare bad guys, not look like the "god damn (friendly neighborhood) batman".

Bingo. Bruce Wayne does not care about making some image to look friendly. He wants the criminals, thugs, etc to be ****ing scared.

I wouldn't mind a flashback to explain the spiders or even give a clue on what part Richard Parker played in OsCorp at all.

Maybe the spider is because OsCorp has figured out one of the genetic spiders is gone and the machine was tampered/interfered with in the original. If it's a genetically modified spider, it's probably kept track of and a big deal if one just randomly goes missing.

it reads Oscorp genomics, what if it is Richard Parker´s office?

It's not more *****ing iconic looking. If it was more "iconic" (I hate associating Spider-Man with that word) looking, then it would be the costume The Amazing Spider-Man comics. The new costume is the Ultimate Spider-Man costume.

First, You do realize that Spider-Man is one of the most iconic comic book characters ever, right?

Second, your argument is incredibly stupid when the costumes 616 and Ultimate are THE EXACT SAME FREAKIN' THING!

I never noticed that the USM cartoon got rid of the arm stripes. Were they just too lazy to draw them?

The OCD in me always wanted leg and arm stripes or no stripes at all on Spidey, lol.

I don't enjoy it. It looks like armor or something on his shoulders. Like football pads..

Did Westman outdo Vid Electricz in levels of Picard face palm with just one post?

It now appears that the pic was from the first movie. :|
