Heard that but doesnt feel like that when they are ready to flush 220M into movies like MIB3 and Total Recall

Wait. Hypothetically if sony did declare bankruptcy would it have to sell off some of its movie rights/assets?

Like would disney have been able to purchase spider-man from them?

Yes, Sony would have to give them away. There was a few articles on that Marvel is constantly looking at the Spider-Man rights ready to take them back as soon as they can

I hope not,I would hate to see a half-hearted effort to make a Spiderman movie just to tie him into the avengers

Don't know about that... Even with the abomination known as "Ultimate Spider-Man" I think that Marvel would have the greatest respects towards the character when making a movie about him

I hate the feel of Marvel's movies, soulless and hokey. Good for nothing but big over-the-top action scenes. Here's to hoping that they never get the rights to Spider-Man. Personally, I don't think they deserve the character...or any of their own characters.

Marvel movies are just pure popcorn and that's not a bad thing. I have to say that Avengers is probably the most fun I've ever had watching a movie but had no weight to it whereas ASM (for me) had more depth and weight, I actually cried during the movie. Difficult to say what I prefer.
I have TDK and SM2 on Blu ray and although I think TDK is a better movie I have seen SM2 WAY more.

I think that a Marvel spidey film would not be as good as it could IMO. I like the Marvel films, but they're not great. They're 'yeah, that was good'. I want spidey to blow my mind, and not just in terms of spectacle, but in terms of character and emotional wallop. That';s what I felt TASM did. Really good emotional film.

All IMO of course, but I don't think Marvel would deliver that.

The Marvel films are good films. But I do agree with you for the most part. Whilst this trilogy is going, I'd like Sony to keep the rights (as long as TASM is as good or surpasses TASM) :)

Sony is on the verge of bankruptcy, that money may not be enough
It's a separate point & if there's a chance of a company as big as Sony going bankrupt an extra $100-200m here is not going to save them. As an individual project ASM has done fine.

Truer words never spoken before

I hope they never get the rights or we'll be forced to see a transformer-esque spidey movie with the stupid Nick Fury cameo in the end

Now that Avengers has done well, all they will care about is creating its hype in every movie if they didnt already

I don't think I've ever seen a post of yours, either here or on the sony boards from back in the day, that said anything remotely positive about anything. Seriously, what do you like?
And you're more than entitled to your opinion about the marvel studios films, but, as it is with MOST of your opinions, you are firmly in the minority on that one.

Seriously... Comparing the marvel studios films to transformers is laughable.
I can't wait till marvel studios gets the rights to Spider-man back (I think it will definitely happen within the next two decades at least) and makes the perfect Spider-man film. They are more than capable of doing so, and have already proven it with their fantastic track record.

Marvel movies have respect of the source material, and they're done with alot of care. I doubt other studios would've had better success with Thor and Capt. America like Marvel had done. And you're giving way too much credit to other studios like Sony; ever heard of movies like Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and lousy sequels like Spider-Man 3 and X3? Seems like you just cherry pick your films to make your point.

LOL they cant even create the perfect Hulk or Thor movie, let alone Perfect spiderman movie
So much for 'Fantastic' track record, all their individual movies except IM1 are average at best, both quality and box office wise

I would be seriously sick if I see a Nick Fury cameo at the end of Spiderman.

And sony doesnt?

I dont consider them success to start with

Fantastic 4,Xmen and Daredevil are owned by fox not Sony

As far as I am concerned,Sony has done a great job making 3 excellent Spiderman movies out of 4 and everybody will agree to it

The sole purpose of Marvel movies is to make an average movie,so that they dont go in loss and then make a stupid Nick Fury cameo in the end to tie them into the Avengers

Avengers is a pop corn flick at best, dont get me wrong,I enjoyed the movie but it has no heart,I would hate to see that kind of money oriented movie made out of my favourite Superhero

Spiderman is too big to share a movie with the likes of Thor or Captain America,He must always have his individual movies

Thor was pretty damn amazing.

Agreed, it's my favourite MCU movie, I think because it's got more character and depth then the others, and well Loki was one of my favourite villains even before I was aware of the movie, and he has the strongest arc in any of the movies imo. (except maybe...iron man.)

I do agree somewhat with KAW, that they are pop corn flicks, with not alot of depth, but they are meant to be that, they are primarily, kids films afterall.

The director's cut of Daredevil should have always been the theatrical cut. It's far superior.

Thor was pretty damn amazing.

I actually thought that Thor was pretty much a 1.5/3 the first time I saw it. But then I saw it on TV after I watched The Avengers, and it went up to an 2.5/3.

I loved Captain America: The First Avenger though, 3/3.

I do like swimming naked with the blue whales. I bet I'm in the minority in that, as well, eh?

I dunno, according to KAW's comments, it would seem like he liked The Amazing Spider-Man.

...and the score.

I bought the score and 3 tracks are incredible but the rest of the tracks are so so.

My point exactly,I would never ever want Spiderman movies to be pop corn flicks
