Okay I will explain it another wayThey all got decent to great reviews. Considering how many crappy comic book films have been made, getting 6 out of 6 which more or less knocked it out of the park is quite a feat. Don't see how you can just downplay that.
TASM has been certified fresh, but it isnt perfect by any stretch of Imagination but a great start to the trilogy nonetheless
And if the remaining 2 sequels are of the same caliber of TASM and do not improve I would be severly dissappointed(Even if they are certified fresh like TASM) and wont consider it an acheivement in any way
Like I said,I care about the Individual Spider man movies rather than how he looks and works in that team of superherosHow can you just dismiss the third biggest movie of all time and still think your argument holds any water?!
I will be severely disappointed if we see a below par Spider-Man movie by marvel even if Avengers 2 ends up grossing 2Billion
The 3 spider man movies before TASM have made 2.5 Billion overallAlright, fine we'll play it your way. Counting just the 5 'individual' movies, they have 'individually' made over 2 billion dollars combined.
I dont see anything average about that.
And thats 2 movies less and half a billion more.
Booyah!!
263M of a 150M budget,Going by that Ratio its kay for TASM to earn 360M WW?The lowest performing movie, the Hulk, still made profit with 263 million. Not great, obviously, but still enough to make a profit.
LOL this board would go into meltdown if that happens
SM1 has close to 900M of a 130M budget and I am not even counting the other 350 odd million made from DVD sales and stuffIron man 1 and 2 made 585 million and 625 million worldwide, respectively. Once again: HOW IS THAT AVERAGE?!? That's fantastic money that most franchises would kill to make.
Then you have Thor and Cap which made, respectively, 449 and 368 million. Not iron man money, but still enough to warrant sequels which at the end of the day is how you consider a movie a success or not.
Nuf' Said
And I stand by my claim that barring avengers their box office success is average at bestAnd then you have the box office juggernaut that is the avengers but oh that's right... We're not counting that for some reason
Look you can dislike the MS movies all you want, you're more than entitled to feel that way but to downplay their success is straight ignorance.
And I am Barring the avengers because I want to show their supposed success with the individual movies
Once again, ridiculous comparisonBut audience reaction, word of mouth from the GA, and box office numbers all show that most people felt that the Avengers was the superior film.
Avengers has 5 movies behind it while TASM is an origin movie.
Compare TASM to Thor or TIH for pete's sake
The individual Marvel movies(except IM1) are not a patch of SM1,SM2 or TASMYou can argue semantics about why you felt ASM was better, but to say which ones a more successful film critically and financially... You already have an answer, just look anywhere on the Internet and see which one is almost universally praised and which one has it's fair share of naysayers.
