I wasn't trying to be snippy. Sorry if it came across that way. It's hard to be argumentative with an Annie Adderall avatar.

Just for the record, I don't think you were being snippy either. Nothing wrong with asking someone to clarify their point.

Precisely why I chose it. Lures people in so I can strike! :hehe:

A ha! So that's your plan is it? :woot::cwink:

I can see where you're coming from now.

Thanks again. :yay:

That is because comics are generally, though not always, two dimensional (execution-ally speaking). A movie, especially one that is going for realism, needs to show a level of subtlety. It isn't that I don't see where you are coming from. I just think that if they did it the way you explain then it would be too heavy handed, obvious, and boring. Also, you don't know the exact context of the scene, or where it comes from. Maybe save these kind of speculative judgements for the finished product yeah? Yeah.

Oh sure. After all, this is a two minute scene out 136 minutes of a movie, so we have yet to see it in it's proper context. I'm just going by my initial impressions thus far, which could easily change after we see the finished product.

Yeah, fair enough. Like i said, I understand your point :D

Love the scene and the behind the scenes!

Very excited for the film!

It definitely looks like a different take, especially Peter himself, but i'm cool with it. I like it that they have kept that he is a bit of an
outcast but isn't nerdy in the typical
sense like he was portrayed
before.

He has a bit of an attitude, and I do believe that adds some realism,
which I ALWAYS enjoy.

It is BLATANTLY gonna put some
people off though, especially some
of the older fans!

This is so annoying. Around the time sm2 came out, I was in constant arguments with people here at how Peter's character was just so horribly handled. I let things slide for sm1 because it worked within the context if the film BUT and I'll repeat what I said back then; people need to read the comics because Peter wasn't always the innocent goody too shoes. He was a kid with ill feelings towards people who had wronged him on many occasions. Stan Lee often had Peter thinking mean thoughts and that was understandable because of Peter's age and the fact that he had this super secret that made him better than the people around him, especially his classmates. Raimi had Peter as some some perpetual victim where the sympathy for the character quickly turned into an annoyance. Webb has given us the definitive Peter Parker/spider-man by the looks of things because wether people like it or not, in the early days of the spidey comics Peter could often be a bit of a jerk.

New TV Spot [YT]ZBh4TqW_Yts&feature=g-u-u[/YT]

That was the TV spot I saw last night during the basketball game. I freaked when I saw the shot of Spidey sliding under Lizard's legs. That was so sweet!

I'm not. I thought they went a little too far there. I mean he just sorta tortures the dude. He even nails him in the nuts with webbing. C'mon. I mean, maybe Spidey would do that in the comics, but they way they potray it, he comes off as being a dick. I mean, I loved the car jacker stuff up until this. (You can look at my posts it you must.) The scene as a
whole just doesn't work the same.
I'm also not much of a fan of
Spidey being lighting fast. I mean,
I like the idea, but it's used too
often. Once again, if this is Spidey
being "drunk off power", as Troy
put it, then I'm all for it. If Spidey
remains this way through out the
movie, I'll have a problem. That's
my concern.

I'd rather this any day than how Raimi had the car jacket fall out the window to his death as Peter just stands there and watches. That wasn't Peter Parker at all.

Really feeling like this will be a great film that divides audiences because of weird creative choices but who knows.

The footage is great.

Yes. Why?

That movie explains well when someone who is bullied (even by his father)gets drunk of power and mess arround , but unfortunetly Andrew was truly blinded by power and his low selfsteme and didn´t even listened to his friends
or didn´t learn responsability

Just so people know, the behind the scenes featurette shows quite a lot of new stuff so if you're trying to go unspoiled, defiantly do not watch that. No more clips for me after watching that.

But it's awesome. Really awesome. My favourite part of it was a line taken from near the end of the Death of Spider-man, so glad they used it because I loved it in the comic.

Which line was that?

BTW sorry i wasn't able to post the vids right away. I was out ALL DAY and was only able to get online once which was when i made the post about the dvd.

Then you should surely be happy that a director has got it right? ;)

I guess everyone sees Peter differently. That is part of his charm.

I'm in total agreement with you though :)

All good man, you helped turn the mood around in here. BE PROUD! :D

Ahh yeah good point. I think they're trying to take a more grounded aprrouch in answering the question, what would a kid do if he got superpowers? and thus this will be us watching us journey, as he turns into a hero.

Which line was that?

"Your father lived by a philosophy that there were things you could do to help people. It was your responsibility to do those things."

-epic facepalm-

u must not pay attention to when u read spidey comics. He has done stuff like that to crooks DOZENS of times. he will troll the feck out of thugs.

one particular instance that comes to mind is when he trapped some thug in webbing and made the guy literally piss his pants with fear by acting like he was going to eat him.

and u don't like him being lightning fast? dude..seriously WTF. Spidey has ALWAYS been that fast.

do us all a favor stop by barnes and noble and check out the guide book to spidey. clearly u need to brush up on your spidey knowledge

All good man, you helped turn the mood around in here. BE PROUD! :D

glad I could help. in fact i'll post pics soon of when I was in walmart this morning to see if that lightens the mod even more. Had on my full costume XD

This film appears to reveal just how many people around here know very little about spider-man.

movie costume or nothing :o

lol kidding but seriously you are brave dude.

It's all good man, I agree with what you said about the character. I think the character has been interpreted so many times that everyone has certain ideas in their head of who he is but from what I saw, that side of Spidey has existed and still does from time to time. He's not a saint

See, in a comic, that doesn't seem so bad, but if that scene was on film, Spidey would look like a complete ass. It's different mediums. As Stan Lee says, not everything from comics can be translated to film.

:funny:

No, he hasn't. Spidey literally gets in the LOCKED car without making a sound or being seen, gets out just as fast, and appears 4 cars over in just 2 seconds. There is a difference between being fast and being the Flash.

You're statement about Spidey being lightning fast says you need to too.

Also another thing to consider is humour, like art is also subjective. Everyone has a different kind of humour and everyone likes different type of humour. Some might find that car jacker scene too much, others may find it hilarious. the scene Spida-man describes would be something people either love or hate depending on their sense of humour. (I loved that scene and found it hilarious but some people might think that that's not spidey at all)

Holy hell! THAT is Spider-Man. Andrew Garfield nailed this. I was smiling the whole time.

The carjacker scene... Holy HELL. Wow. I loved it. I even loved the intensity of it as he came right up to his face. I can't wait to see the whole lead up to that.

That had me hooked :-)

well that depends on 2 things

A) how they do it/ portray it on screen

and B)Re: my last post. he may seem like that to you maybe, but others may find it hilarious. I would, personally love to see a scene like that on screen someday.
