well that depends on 2 things

A) how they do it/ portray it on screen

and B)Re: my last post. he may seem like that to you maybe, but others may find it hilarious. I would, personally love to see a scene like that on screen someday.

Spidey can be very obnoxious at times..it's not out of the realm for him to get full of himself and drunk on power..it's happened plenty of times. And you're right, it's all subjective

God, I'm fighting over with those morons over at the Boxoffice.com boards, they're all talking of how much of a *****e Spidey is in this clip (although I served the explanation by Marc Webb, none of them seems to care), and how out of character it is.

I totally disagree, he's drunk on power like Webb says, and Andy just nails it, so hilarious.

This film appears to reveal just how many people around here know very little about spider-man.

I just watched the carjack clip and I think it is a good representation of who Spider-Man is. Spidey likes to wisecrack and puts the criminals in a bind (literally), and in the movie he was still young and a bit arrogant thanks to all his new-found powers. It's understandable why he'd be exasperated to see the cop wanting to shoot him after he had helped them capture a thief, and I don't think that cop reacted appropriately when he fired his pistol. Spider-Man could've taken on all the cops, but he chose to run because he's not a bad guy. I think Webb has captured the essence of Spider-Man rather well, according to that clip.

Love the carjacker scene! but no more clips for me until the movie is out..I hope :woot:

those people are diehard TDKR fanatics..no point in trying to reason with them..

The way he's quickly in the guys face, as if he's saying 'You're mine now'. Brilliant.

Checks his wrist, nothing, and is like 'Oh, this could have been worse hehe.'

Just brilliant stuff. I love it. And we know the reason behind it. Even so, very spidey IMO...

This is so annoying. Around the time sm2 came out, I was in constant arguments with people here at how Peter's character was just so horribly handled. I let things slide for sm1 because it worked within the context if the film BUT and I'll repeat what I said back then; people need to read the comics because Peter wasn't always the innocent goody too shoes. He was a kid with ill feelings towards people who had wronged him on many occasions. Stan Lee often had Peter thinking mean thoughts and that was understandable because of Peter's age and the fact that he had this super secret that made him better than the people around him, especially his classmates. Raimi had Peter as some some perpetual victim where the sympathy for the character quickly turned into an annoyance. Webb has given us the definitive Peter Parker/spider-man by the looks of things because wether people like it or not, in the early days of the spidey comics Peter could often be a bit of a jerk.
Well said. Stan Lee's Peter did a lot of things that were jerk-ish. He knocked out Flash after taunting him during a boxing match, he screamed at Betty to get her to hate him so he wouldn't break her heart... hell, in Amazing Fantasy #15 he swears that he's going to show everyone up for taunting "puny Parker."

Glad to see the majority of people here aren't down in the dumps anymore thinking the movie is gonna be crap due to some people's negative comments about the movie. I loved the car jacking scene. Such a wiseass and i love it! :D

I still think it's really funny.

I think it's funny, brutal, and emotional. You can see that 'anger' in spidey. The way he tilts his head, like a predator about to strike, just before he lunges at the crook. Thinking it's Bens killer.

My god. Wonderful. I want this film to be gooooooood.

Wtf. So many new scenes. Definitely not watching them! :oldrazz: The TV Spots are tempting though...

I'd watch the car jack scene, just to get a taste of spidey.

If you also know the reasons behind the scene, you'll like it more :)

Oh sure. After all, this is a two minute scene out 136 minutes of a movie, so we have yet to see it in it's proper context. I'm just going by my initial impressions thus far, which could easily change after we see the finished product.

I couldnt find the post but I think it was you who was saying that it if

Peter will not see the full face of the killer if he's looking for him via tattoo on the wrist, but in the first trailer there is a wanted poster of the killer hung up on his wall, so he definately knows what the killer looks like, (the tattoo maybe was to double check?or maybe if this 'ring gang' they all look similar?) Also in the set video I believe its very much like USM so if thats the case he will se the killer before he kills his Uncle.

Completely agreed with this!!

This has already been discussed, in spoilers, with a few different theories. Check back :)

Yeah, I was made aware of the scene where Peter passes by some store, a guy runs out and followed by another person yelling "stop that guy!" or some such. But the way it was described, it sounded more like Peter was caught unawares by the robber escaping rather than intentionally letting the guy go. Again, have to wait and see it in the proper context.

Also, since you mentioned it, I do recall that image of what looks like a police sketch on Peter's wall, so what you said could be possible. But then that leads me to ask that if he has a general idea of what his Uncle's killer looks like, then why is he even checking the carjacker's wrist for the tattoo? Wouldn't he have already figured out the carjacker was or wasn't his Uncle's killer beforehand?

Teleported :oldrazz:

I think, after the car jacker gets out through the window, you do hear a car door being shut. So you know spidey left the car.

Coming in? Not sure. We may see it in the actual film. I don't know lol
