I think showing the carjacker is a afraid was the right choice. Honestly, if it were me, I'd probably be scared ****less. You're obviously not dealing with something human and that right there is intimidating enough. The way he moved. The way he webs the guy to the wall. He is helpless. He is being bullied and toyed with.

That would scare me because I'm in such a vulnerable position. I don't think anger would have any effect on the outcome of the situation. Instead, I think showing you're afraid and pleading would be more realistic in the sense you're trying to win over your tormentor.

That's how I view the scene at least.

I think scared criminals works best as a response to Batman.

and frustrated, pissed off criminals works as a response to Spider-man.

Those responses emphasize the intimidating or whimsical nature of each hero and how their traits make them suitable for crime fighting in different ways.

I have a quesiton?

Orci and Kurtzman where brought on to write the spidey sequel yes? Is that due to Vanderbelt having other commitments or due to Sony pushing for a more action focused film?

He's busy working on this movie they're fast tracking at Sony. The white house movie with Jamie foxx and Chaning Tatum. Forgot what it's called now. But apparently it's die hard in the white house

Cool. Cheers.

Also, in regards to the carjacking, it's great to see some annoyance from spidey with his treatment by the cops.

We may get some actual public hate towards him. I hope.

That movie explains well when someone who is bullied (even by his father)gets drunk of power and mess arround , but unfortunetly Andrew was truly blinded by power and his low selfsteme and didn´t even listened to his friends
or didn´t learn responsability

That movie doesn't "explain it". Explaining it would mean that it's justifying something which is pretty clear and only has one possible outcome. We all know that isn't true. There's loads of different ways on how you can deal with a situation like this. That movie depicts one way on where this kind of abuse can lead you - getting revenge.

Chronicle had a Magneto archetype in it's main character. A poor kid who had a **** dad and a weak mother and who was bullied all his life, so when he got the upper hand, he chose to exact revenge on those who bewronged him and to rise above the "weaker species".

There's an even better example from the Spidey universe that follows this exact same template. This is what splits apart Otto Octavius from Peter Parker. It's that exact difference on how they chose to deal with their power after being the weakest link in the food chain for those many years.

Peter is depicted as an inherently good guy that, even when he gets his powers, he doesn't look for revenge on those who made his life hell. He got cocky and reckless, sure, but in the end he never plotted to get revenge on Flash for all those years of being an ******* to him. He simply reacted to defend himself when he tried to bully him again after he got his powers. It's a thin line but, in this case, it's what separates him from one of his most famous foes.

^ Deeeeear God! Tv-spot 5 and 6!.... This movie looks incredible! The action seems much more interesting and compelling then that of Avengers, which was very standard. And all this in amazing 3D!

THIS?:wow::woot:
EDIT: this one lol

Damn, that was a sweet TV spot. The fights with the Lizard are going to be off the charts. One thing I love about all of the Spidey movies are the fight scenes, there are always some really great set pieces and a feeling that is like it's captured off of the pages of comics which a lot of comic book films up until recently failed to do with their fight scenes imo.

I think for the first couple fights Spidey may be trying to pull his punches on Lizzie because he knows Connors is in there, but in the final fight he just goes all out emotionally and physically when fighting him because he knows he may have to take him down permanently, for his own sake.

What Uncle Ben says to Peter.....could that be before his death or sometime during a big speech between the two?

Probably right before. I think it could lead to an argument between Peter and Ben in which Peter runs off and Ben goes after him.

In that new spot, I freaking love
when he jumps off the building in street clothes.
Can't wait to see that whole sequence.

I hope it's before his death. Last thing I want is Bill Murray making a cameo in a ghostbusters outfit.

No, wait. I DO want that.

Anyone think that Rhys Ifans will be back for sequels in a supporting role as Curt Connors, and as an ally? I think would be awesome -- I wonder if they have sequel options in his contract.

I have a feeling if that 2nd trailer gave us a clue, that he doesn't end up 6 feet under but rather in Jail for a certain amount of time to answer for what he's done in the first movie. Maybe we could see Pete visit him in jail in the sequel or something to that effect. One thing I loved about the 90's animated series is how they involved Connors in Spidey's storylines.

Actually -- just found this interview:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I7-WcnI9xms&feature=relmfu

In it, Rhys is asked (by a guy who has seen the film) if we find out about:
- The secrets Connor's knows about Peter's parents
- The secrets Connor's knows about Oscorp
and
- Does Connor's know who the man in the shadows is?

So... one can assume that those things aren't entirley answered in the film and that the man in the shadows is never totally identified in the film (possibly Osborn, but still could be someone else.)

And if you watch Rhys' answer, he almost says that you'll get those answers in this film and then maybe more in another film... Connor's might be the "key" as it were to solving the mystery of Peter's parents which Webb said is going to be the long shadow of this new franchise -- so after this interview, I'd expect to see him back.

Well said. Stan Lee's Peter did a lot of things that were jerk-ish. He knocked out Flash after taunting him during a boxing match, he screamed at Betty to get her to hate him so he wouldn't break her heart... hell, in Amazing Fantasy #15 he swears that he's going to show everyone up for taunting "puny Parker."

This man knows his stuff :spidey::up:

Agreed. I love Nolan's batman films, they're fantastic but so far I've been unimpressed with the fight scenes in his movies. I really hope the fighting improves in a major way for TDKR.

"They will"
"Why?"
"Because we'll need them to"

See what you did there :cwink:

BB was to quickly cut. Was fine when you first see Bats on the docks. But after needed to be cut slower.

TDK was an improvement.

I honestly think TDKR will improve on that. Here's hoping :)
