That is true actually. It is a little bit of a shame that he doesn't have a family or that Spidey isn't trying to help him as much as stop him. Especially when the stopping a bad guy thing has been done in all the Spidey films!

I guess this way is more like the Ultimate Comics. A little less schmaltzy and straight to the action.
I think the reason why he had no family is because they fear the movie will be too crammed like Spider-Man 3. Notice this movie doesn't have JJ, MJ, Harry, and now Connor's family. Better off that way IMO.

But didn't they say from the beginning that it mixes elements from ASM and USM?

Yeah, it certainly is.

I'm not complaining. I think the film looks and sounds great!

Just a little bit of a shame. I understand why they did it though, from the way you put it I mean.

I think what I would really love is a Spider-Man TV Series so they could really flesh out the soap opera (well you know what I mean) elements and give you more of an opportunity to connect with the characters over weeks or months, rather than two hours... basically like in a comic but with a frequently more grown-up tone (like how Ultimate Spider-Man often had).

Hopefully CGI gets cheaper and cheaper but better and better :D

We can but dream.

With all of these reviews being talked about, I thought I'd like to a few.

Some pretty fair early reviews that io9 put together can be found here:

Pretty much what I was expecting. The one negative review is pretty boorish and doesn't look like there was a lot of thought put into it. The twilight comparison kinda made me cringe, so I'm thinking that guy spent too much time on the internet before he went to see it.

Anyone think their really will be an Venom Spin-Off? The Elektra spin-off kind of killed the Daredevil franchise, I so would prefer for one to be made AFTER this trilogy.

Also, if Spider-Man is in an Avengers movie, I think it shouldn't really have much to do with the main story of the SM films. Maybe a few references but that's it.

Denis Leary is going to be on the Daily Show tonight.

Hiya,

Sorry for a stupid question that I am going to ask. I have never been gone to midnight screening before. So how do I can buy the ticket for it? I have looked anywhere in the internet and I didnt see anywhere.

Hm...not sure how helpful i can be, but I'd say you should go on the website for your nearest theater or nearest theater chain and buy a ticket for the last screening on the night BEFORE the film is set to release.

Have you ordered tickets online before? I see you live in Canada so I don't know if it's the same as it is here in the US

Yes, assuming that you live in Canada and that the release date is July 2nd? Usually the midnight screening is listed at 11:59 or 12:01 or something like that. I think.

Online? I could do that but I seem cant find it anywhere. I really want to buy it before it sold out, u know?

Alright okay thanks, BRB. I will let you know if I successfully got the ticket :)

So excited!

Emma stone said Gwen needs to die, so the Death of Gwen Stacy is pretty much guaranteed in one of the sequels

She will no doubt die at some point, its just a matter of in which sequel? I'm hoping its the next movie, at the very end. Man, if they do it correctly it could be one of the most dramatic/epic scenes in movie history.

Depends on the after credits scene. He could be the next villain after all.

Also, I'm happy this film is getting good reviews. It gives me a sense of relief.

I want Gwen to die at end of trilogy. If she and Peter break up at end of this film It;s too soon for her to die.

Ideal they should go In part 2 Norman becomes major character.Have him be hind a villain and get formula which turns already evil Insane but with added strength.Peter and
Gwen get back together In sequel and In third film Is when Norman becomes Green Goblin
and kills Gwen.Gwen should be female lead of this trilogy. It would be even more tragic If In part 3 Peter was to propose to Gwen or be planning to and then she Is killed.

The daily Bugle needs to be Introduced In sequel.Mary Jane should be nothing but a supporting character In this trilogy If used at all.

I think Mary Jane should have a pretty large role at some point in this film series. She's an extremely important character to the Spider-Man mythos. To make her a supporting character for the entire thing would be a huge disservice and, frankly, a stupid idea.
