I want Gwen to die at end of trilogy. If she and Peter break up at end of this film It;s too soon for her to die.

Ideal they should go In part 2 Norman becomes major character.Have him be hind a villain and get formula which turns already evil Insane but with added strength.Peter and
Gwen get back together In sequel and In third film Is when Norman becomes Green Goblin
and kills Gwen.Gwen should be female lead of this trilogy. It would be even more tragic If In part 3 Peter was to propose to Gwen or be planning to and then she Is killed.

The daily Bugle needs to be Introduced In sequel.Mary Jane should be nothing but a supporting character In this trilogy If used at all.
Or, they could have Peter go to propose to Gwen, but Gwen says they can't be together because someone blackmailed her into breaking up with Pete.

I think Mary Jane should have a pretty large role at some point in this film series. She's an extremely important character to the Spider-Man mythos. To make her a supporting character for the entire thing would be a huge disservice and, frankly, a stupid idea.

For trilogy Gwne should be major character. They should do Mary Jane like on Spectular Spider-Man.Be girl who Isn't Intrested In major relationship. She
could date Peter In sequel but eventully Peter and Gwen go back together.
I can see ending In part 3 of her being there for peter after Gwen's death.
If they go beyond 3 films then yes then mary Jane should become female lead but for trilogy It should be gwen as major woman In his life.

This is a trilogy, Marc has already stated this. Killing Gwen in the last film is bad for (at least) two reasons:

1) ending the spidey franchise on such a sour note would be bad. This is spidey, yes he has some dark moments, but he is not a doom and gloom character. You want him to go out on a high note. Don't repeat the mistakes of SM3.

2) killing Gwen at the end of the last movie would be a disservice to the character. Part of what makes her death so important is the effect it has on Peter and how he copes with it. You just can't do any of that justice when it happens at the end (or even the middle) of the last film.

Here's how I would handle things. Introduce mj in the second film as the party-girl friend. She doesn't have to have a huge role, but she needs to be there. I'd personally make her and Peter at odds. Have her be slightly anti-spider-man, just to play off the idea that these two could never be in a relationship.

Kill Gwen off in the second movie. Yes, that means less time with Emma and the character, but that's the POINT. It should feel "too soon", because it's a death. It's supposed to be tragic.

Mj can have her turning point here, just like in the comics. Instead of being the immature party girl, we get to see that she actually has a heart and consoles Peter. This will establish their friendship for the third movie.

In the third film, they're still just casual friends, but Peter finds that he's starting to feel attraction. He hides it, however, because Mj still hates spidey (though by the end of the movie she will have come around), and Peter feels guilty for liking Gwen's friend (as well as her death - peters redemption would be the focus of this movie). But over the course of the movie, they become closer and help eachother through the grieving process. Throughout the movie, aunt may is trying to get Peter to go on a blind date, completely unaware Peter knows her. At the end of the movie, the last scene could be the revelation that the blind date isin fact MJ, with her famous line, then cut to black.

This way, we get Gwen's death, and even though she isn't in the third film, her presence felt and is still a huge factor. We also get MJ, but without a relationship lessening Gwen's impact. We also end the movie on a high note, showing that Peter WILL be alright, and that he's about to embark on one of comics longest and strongest relationships (damn you, Marvel!)

I'm down with all of that... except making MJ anti-Spidey. She's always been one of Spider-Man's biggest fans/supporters, and after they already pulled that treatment on Captain Stacy, I don't want to see it happen again.

Well, it could be anything really. Just something that keeps an emotional distance between them, something that would suggest a relationship is the last thing that could happen, because you don't want to introduce her and have a sign over her head saying "I'm gonna be Gwen's replacement!", ya know?

If Gwen breaks up with Peter In this film's end as soundtrack hints Inless you have them get back together at begining of sequel would be disservice to character and storyline.

She needs to be Peter's serious girlfirend not his ex at time of death. This also means The green goblin has to be In sequel.

I want Gwen to get her due.Too often people Ignore that character who was best love Intrest ofr Peter. The 1990's animated series and the Rami Trilogy(she should have been love Intrest Instead of given small role In last film)

This is feeling more and more like an intelligent, more true to spirit re-invention of the character like Batman Begins.

My excitement for this film is PALPABLE.

Hell, even the action scenes in the commercials like adrenaline enducing.

For one, by the sound of it, GG will most likely be the next villain, so there's that. And Gwen and Peter being broken up is a good thing, IMO. The movie would deal with the two of them dealing with their conflicting emotions. They could either get back together, or at least acknowledge their love for each other before te final fight, giving the audience false security before dropping her off the bridge. That would make her death even more tragic, IMO.

so about those 3D glasses that Sony is not paying are we gonna have to pay a little more in the theater?

In my head, they're still married. Hate Marvel for doing what they did.

I like the way this trilogy could map out.

We better not have to pay for those 3D glasses... KHAAAAN! I mean... SONYYYYYY!

Sally Field is coming up on the Jimmy Kimmel show in about a minute... on the east coast.

Damn, all listings are showing only in 3D in my area.

I hate that so much. And usually all of the bigger screens are reserved for 3D showings now. So if I wanna watch a new film in 2D, it has to be on one of those smaller screens. Oh well?
