I don't even know who I would like, or trust, to replace him.

flickchicks points are equally relevant. give it a couple months and my bet is Webb will be on board for the sequel. This is assuming the movie is a success of course.

and anyone who doesnt want to be even more spoiled, avoid the review thread for the time being.

the other thing is they don't know the GA's response to this film. What of he says he'll come on for a sequel and this movie bombs worst than Battleship? Or it makes all the money in the world like Avengers or the Tranformers movies?? There is a reason Paramount gave Bay a lot of money for the 4th movie and it had everything to do with the series making 2.6Bil combined.

Great interview with Webb that Huffington Post did. It's where that pull quote came from. Even talks about why he didn't include JJJ in this flick. Also clears up the rumor about Pete's dad and gene manipulation

Doesn't anyone understand director speak? Webb is saying what pretty much every director says after directing a big budget film. His analogy about pregnancy is a good one: just because he's not clamoring to get back in the saddle doesn't mean he's ruling it out. He just wants a break. Making a movie like this is mentally taxing.

Tell em again, Eddie lol

I'd imagine that's why Christopher Nolan has one original movie in between each Batman movie. That's why I'm not keen on expecting Marc Webb to carry out more than three movies.

Plus WB let Nolan "take a break". Sony wants TASM2 out May 2014, and Webb isn't gonna stop them.

That's why I hate Sony. Cool it Sony, you just need to make a Spidey movie every 5 years, don't go running into TASM2. If Webb wants a break, don't ****ing replace him because you're being a cheap ass.

Thank god we can stop talking about that now.

You kidding, Drummer? This is the internet, that will never be cleared up lol. The director himself could say that the sky is blue and that traffic light colors are red yellow and green and people on the internet would still dispute it and say he's wrong

And argue that he was paid off by Sony to say that.

What's the idea of people panicking over when the sequel is released?

Did it hurt Spider-Man 2? No.

This particular bit of news was a huge sigh of relief:

Huffington Post: I have heard rumors that you wanted Peter's parents to be the source of his powers, not the traditional accidental radioactive spider bite. There are rumors of a reshoot to incorporate the more traditional spider bite.

Marc Webb: I think there was something on the internet.

Huffington Post: I want to clear that up.

Marc Webb: It's completely false.

Huffington Post: So what we see is the way it was always shot?

Marc Webb: Yes.

Now I am more confused why those lines were taken out of the final product.

I remember when there was talk about Tobey Maguire not returning for SM2, and there was a possibility of Jake Gyllenhaul (Spelling?) taking over. PANIC!!! lol

I feel like Marc Webb might actually return to direct. He only has 2 movies under his belt, and stepping away from making what could be one of the greatest comic book series would be a huge mistake.

About Gwen's fate...
Webb said:
And I think one of the reasons that it was interesting to tell Gwen Stacy is because of that element. But, of course, you need to establish that connection. And we'll see [raising and lowering eyebrows] how that unfolds.

Aw man, he's totally gonna do it.

Gyllenhaal*

I think Marc will return, unless he really doesn't want to do it. But it seems like he has a lot of plans for Spider-Man, so I'm confident.
