Sam Marquette was awesome in Ultimate Spider-Man.
I thought his name is Sean
My biggest problem with NPH from SD was that the delivery of the lines didn't feel like Spider-Man, I dunno how to explain it better.
How come? Felt perfect
For Josh Keaton, Sam Marquette, and CDB it just sounds so natural, it's a great fit. Then there is Dan Gilvezan who has a great delivery, but (in my opinion) a voice that doesn't fit Spidey.
Not his current old voice, his voice was perfect in SM&HAF, he's my favorite Spidey voice DG

Yeah I just realized this to, thats what you get for not double checking names. Sigh.

Nah I dunno how to put it. His lines didn't feel as natural as Josh's. His style of comedy is a bit different to what I prefer from Spidey I think. So it ended up feeling forced from time to time. Still, he's got what is probably the greatest line/moment in SD. The "Tadaaa" after he brings down the Oscorp building is just great. Always crack me up.

And I never saw his animated show when it aired, but I have seen some episodes on youtube. I feel the same anyway, it's not the voice thats wrong its the delivery.

Sadly, I thought I was done with open world sub par Spider-Man games. It seems though, that Activision will pull me back in with this one.

Shouldn't that be there even with unlimited webbing?

I hope that this time non-superhuman thugs can't break out of webbing. That annoys me so much. The stuff is proportionally stronger than steel, and yet a generic gang-banger can break out of it in no time flat.

I hope it chokes them to faint like the PS1 games

To me, Spider-Man games haven't really been good since Treyarch did them. They peaked with Spider-Man 2.

The controls and web slinging in Edge of Time was bad and a step back to the best Spider-Man games I've played.

Well, if they couldn't simply break out of it, all players would be doing is shoot their webs, end the fights in seconds and get bored. I admit that it's stupid, but from a gaming point it would make fights way too easy.

Breaking out of webs are fine, I just don't want them to dodge the webs or block the webs.

Yeah, it's the dodging of webs that pissed me off in SM2.

And that's the problem with superhero open world game design. The world is not filled with things to challenge a superhero.

Depends on the superhero. Open world is great for someone like Batman. But for someone like Superman, it's a waste of recources.

Sean Marquette was awesome in Ultimate Spider-Man. And yeah Spidey was 15 in the game so the voice made sense. And even if one didn't like his voice you can't deny that it was well acted. It fit the character so good. And he totally nailed the delivery.
If you ask me, he just sounded too young for how I picture Spider-Man. I think Spider-Man should sound the way he does when Chris Barnes voiced him or Josh Keaton, Rino Romano, NPH, Tobey Maguire, etc.

Again, he was supposed to be 15. Except for Josh Keaton, all of those other voice actors, voiced a much older Spider-Man. And Tobey sucked.

I wouldn't say he sucked, he's my second least favorite voice actor for Spidey. The Web of Shadows dude being number 1.

He has terrible delivery and just a bad voice for Spider-Man overall. At least the WoS dude sounded ok when he played bad Spidey.

Spider-Man 2 did it nicely, followed by SM3 on the PS2 as second

And Tobey sucked.

He's fine on the role, sounded sleepy in the first movie game & bit less lazy in SM3 on the PS2, the other two games had some fine performance by him, great delivery and voice, only bad delivered line is the "Sound wave affects the suit" in the church when the bell magically moves and he's supposed to be in pain, that line is his absolute worst delivery.
Other than that he did really well, and when he talks tough he sounds really great

No Tobey was terrible. God his voice sucked so much.

Ease up on the hate, he's alright.
Things could have been worse and we might get him voiced by Charlton Heston
