Seems odd for him to do something like that since he's typically pretty tight-lipped. Could easily see him just tossing things out there to throw people off the real story. Would definitely be interesting to see how he'd work those 2 into TA2.

Only other brother/sister duo besides Scarlet Witch and Quicksliver I could think of were villains the Fenris twins Andrea and Andreas von Strucker

There is a big difference between brother/sister act and actual brother and sister. One could say that Hawkeye and Black Widow from the Avengers was a brother/sister act in some ways. I think it'll just be two characters who are like bro and sis. Personally I wouldn't like to see Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver yet. I mean it'd be great but their backstory really adds to the characters motives. We'll have to wait and see!

Please let Whedon bring in the Maximoffs. They'll be incredible and I'm sure he would write them brilliantly. I mean just look at how well he wrote Spike and Drusilla!

Plus Maximoffs mean you can eventually head to Avengers Dissassembled which would be great for Phase 3.

Never really knew much about the Maximoff's before, so just did some research on them..

Looks like they have a history with Cthon, who the Other in the MCU will probably turn out to be. Could be interesting.

The only other brother and sister act around that I can think of is Northstar and Aurora. But they're mutants too, and are they owned by Fox (more outrightly than Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver)?

Northstar and Aurora wouldn't make any sense anyway within the Avengers.

If that ain't the pot calling the kettle black. Of all people, I thought you'd see the non-Maximoffs side of this thing. I can't believe he'd let something so obvious slip this early. I'm not saying it's definitely not them, but I'd start looking elsewhere first for a guy/girl combo.

This certainly is a possibility but I'm really hoping he was literal and is planning on using the most obvious bro/sis act in Wanda and Pietro.

I'd love to see this! Avengers needs a top woman on the team. I can't visualise how Scarlet Witch's hex bolts would look but really excited about the possibility. The bro-sis interaction is something I think Whedon would enjoy doing and would write/handle well.

Weren't there theories back when Avengers came out that Coulson was dating Scarlet Witch (since Pepper asked him how things were going with the cellist and I guess she is/has been a cellist somewhere in the comics <--sorry, I'm not a comic reader)?

Well Marvel have already done that, twice now with Yondu in GOTG, with an archer on the big screen before Green Arrow.

Yondu almost seems like pouring salt on their wounds.

Isn't only the word "mutant" not allowed by Fox, not the concept? They can explain it without needing to use the word. In Heroes, all of them were essentially mutants without ever stating as such.
