Quesada, who has a huge hand in overseeing scripts/the process of these films just gave an interview to IGN in which he gave a "why not?" type of response when asked about a possible Civil War film. Basically, anything can happen.

I think a movie built around the Civil War storyline could work very well. It provides not only something different to be done in a superhero movie but it's a nice touch to introduce some political/social realism to the universe.

Dear baby Jesus, please don't let a Civil War film happen. Not until the dozens of other Avengers villains get their shots in first. Save the heroes fighting each other for something way down the road when it makes more sense.

Pass for me when it comes to a Civil War storyline in the MCU. So many other stories to tell before we ever get to that cluster phuck.

This has probably already been asked/suggested, but what about a civil war avengers movie?
Probably won't happen. At the moment at least. They're also taking PARTS from that and placing them in the films as it is.

Here's the question description and VD quote:
...a fan stepped up to the microphone and said, "It seems like every movie you're in, you become the face of that franchise, so I'm wondering, I guess the word is Vision? What's your Vision of the upcoming Marvel movies?"

Diesel laughed, "Why did I have to go ahead and say, 'Ask the question'? He asked the one question I'm not allowed to say anything about. Well, I will say there is some very big news coming at the end of this month."

Looks like Aaron Johnson as quicksilver is a done deal. From MTV news:

Chatting with MTV News about Kick-Ass 2 with co-star Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was pressed for the first time about being Marvel's top contender for the Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver role in The Avengers 2. "I don't think I can talk about that, but it really is an exciting prospect," Johnson said, indicating that the casting is a done deal. When asked if he was reading up on the character, he added, "[QuickSilver] has a really interesting character and background. In fact, my wife just went out and bought... it's like a really, really old vintage [comic] with the first time Quicksilver's ever been on the cover.

Nananana we have a better QS than Fox!!!

Mayimbe tweets a lot of things.

I hope he's right though. I remember when the cast of the first one all came on stage. That was the biggest nerdgasm I've ever had. It kinda made me feel sad though when Mark Ruffalo was partially boo'd. If Marvel does it again he's going to get the loudest applause.

Don't know which section to exactly put this in but Vin Diesel is going to be a part of the MCU now so we could very well see him TA2 or possibly GotG. Exciting times for Marvel.

Mother*******!

VD seems like a cool guy, I just can't unsee his resemblance to a penis. It's uber-distracting.

That said, I hope it's just voicework that he'll be used for. I guess I'd be okay with him as Vision. My excitement for Avengers 2 is already sky high so him being in the movie won't really diminish it in any way. It'll make me *facepalm* briefly and then I'll move on.

Oh totally! I'd love for an Avengers cast lineup redux, and this time with Ruffalo getting a bonafide standing o!

I have to say that while I don't really think too much of Aaron Johnson as an actor, he does sound quite lovely in his QS enthusiasm.

Anybody who can't imagine Aaron Johnson as Quicksilver, check this out:

LOL I agree. Now they need to get SW just right and it'd be perfect.

Btw, I wonder if they can allude to their father without mentioning his name?

Really? Come on haha. Oh you'd be okay with him as vision? Ok good well I'm sure marvel is glad you're ok with that too. Despite him looking like a penis according to you. I swear the things I read on these boards. Think I've seen it all, then boom another new post.

Not really sure yet, thought Clark was hinting they started some already during the Agents of SHIELD filiming

Yeah, I really don't want to see Civil War onscreen. I got enough of the Tony v. Cap dynamic in Avengers; I'd hate seeing this franchise being eaten by superhero vs. superhero.

CW was a great arc in the comics because of all the history between the characters. It wouldn't work in the MCU because it hasn't been built up enough yet.

Any news from SDCC we don't know about?
