I wish they waited until the Thanos story line was finished and introduction Ultron at the end credits of A3 :csad: Oh,well. There's World's Finest and SW:E VII.

Part of the problem is that Thanos is an alien, and we already have alien invasion in the first movie. And Thanos is a far bigger threat than Ultron, so this is a logical move from Whedon.

AHHH!!!!! :wow::woot::hrt::awesome::highfive:

I can't imagine they'll be using anything more than the title. I just can't imagine Marvel would be like "Hey Joss, we know you just kicked off The Avengers as a team... but how about for the next one, you adapt this new storyline we're doing?"

I just can't imagine that. It'll be an amalgamation of past storylines that Ultron has been involved in, I'm sure of it.

There wasn't much of a story in AoU anyway. It's probably just a title, like First Class.

That said, I suppose the time-traveling to stop Pym building Ultron storyline would mesh with Ant-Man, assuming it's about Lang and old Pym.

Its just the name they are using. They're not going to adapt Bendis' recent run. Joss is going to write something original

Still, I gotta wonder if it'll involve clashing dimensions and/or time travel. Could explain Wanda & Pietro's origins, and even Ultron's, if they came from an alternate timeline or a future "Age of Ultron" (a la Terminator saga).

^ yeah, lol. I can't even express how disappointed I was by that. I was expecting an awesome Ultron story.

Yeah. I'm personally hoping it's Age of Ultron in name only too.

The current team is no match for Thanos...they need more firepower....let them fight Ultron and gain a few members

And Whedon >>> Bendis

I think it mostly will be, but it may involve the future/time travel as a way to introduce Ultron without having Pym first maybe?

My guess is that GotG will have nothing to do with Phase 2. GotG and its events are aimed for Avengers 3.

and Thanos was teased as being a part of that movie (GotG)

From FB Marvel Cinematic Universe:

(Andrew) Edgar Wright says ANT-MAN fits right into THE AVENGERS 3 plans:

"I saw [Whedon] just the other week in London, we had dinner. He likes the script that we've written, so there's not a lot we have to do to fit it into the other movies, which is good. I think so how it fits in will actually become in future movies. So, it's going to be more standalone."

That seems strange since Ultron would seem to fit better with Ant-Man in Phase 3, but it seems like they have a master plan where those 2 work out separately.

Nope. There was a tweet out earlier with a quote from a Marvel exec blatantly saying "We won't be exploring time travel anytime soon."

I'd rather have Thanos following Ultron as the final villain of the trilogy than the other way around. But with JL coming in 2017, we might get the see Darkseid before Thanos.

Which is damn sad.

I'm no expert but did they not just finish the Age of Ultron comic series?
Yep, and it goes back to what Quesada was saying yesterday to IGN in that when Marvel puts out an event it tends to be an indication on where the filmverse is going. But as said, it's most likely only the title being used.

And Whedon >>> Bendis

Thus GotG having a direct link to Avengers 3 and not Phase 2. Smart move by Marvel! Already getting a head start on Phase 3!

There's no way they're really adapting anything from that book. There's too much in it that deals with characters and things yet to be established in the current films, as well as characters owned by other studios at this point, plus the overall story was a huge bomb, so I'm sure they're just using the current name.
